I know a lot of people think 'Queen' died when Freddie did, but I for one appreciate any music that is still being created using samples of queen or individual members work.
To that end, I have compiled a CD of my own with some more recent tracks (or 'versions'). I think its an ace CD to listen to ..... anyone else any thoughts on this. What would you do? What else do you like from recent times?
Tracks are:
1. Its a Beautiful day (Ross Robertson/DJ Koma mix)
2. Invincible Hope (original version)
3. Woman you're so beautiful (Roger with Felix)
4. Say its not true / let there be drums (my own mix)
5. New York at last (mash up mix)
6. Self made man (stuart leathem mix)
7. She blows hot and cold (version with Brian)
8. Nobody understands me (stuart leathem mix)
9. Going back (remix)
9. In charge of my heart (mix of the cross and queen versions)
10. Amandla (studio version)
11. Thats the way God planned it (Roger & SAS band)
12. Fickles 'Lullaby' mix
Tracks I wanted to include but didn't quite fit as they're a bit older:
Love is the hero
Lady with a tenor sax
you're the only one
keep smilin'
silver salmon
dog with a bone
I cry for you (Roger with Freddie and John)
You nearly did me in
but they're on a separate CD ;)
I would be interested to hear about the 'In charge of my heart' (mix of the cross and queen versions) track - is this a fan mix or mash up? Queen didn't do a version of this song but lyric is mentioned in Stealin...?
I'd love to share the CD but I can't share the whole thing here as some of the tracks are official.
but if you log onto the queen hub through DC++ you should find most of them
The 'In charge of my heart' mix is just one of my own - it is the Cross 12" version mixing into the queen version from the 'Stealin' demo. Don't know whether I can share it or not as the cross part is official!!
i'd love to hear your 'In Charge Of My Heart' mix as im sure would everyone else who download fan mixes. In fact there is a fan mix forum on this very site - go and post it: link
go on - you know you want to.
