The role of the Phantom in "Phantom of the Opera".
(Supposedly some recording exists, but I've never heard it... then again, I'm not a collector of anything)
I don't know about "good fits" or anything, but it would have been interesting to hear him try an operatic role.
There is German in my ears...
German... I don't know German... That is why Bob invented translated librettos...
Yes, I am not in my right mind. I feel sick right now... >.<
*Being hyperthetical here*
If Freddie had recorded a version of Led Zeppelin's Kashmir, in 1990 - 1991, he would have absolutely smoked Bob Plants version, no matter how good Plant is.
Matt.
sorry, i just think freddie's voice would fit any song, that's how good he was
although i'd love to see him sing rock n roll by zeppelin in that high screaming plant voice

Bullshit, Just listen to stuff like Freddie singing Imagine and Immigrant Song, it's terrible. Freddie wasn't a god, he couldn't do anything, he couldn't sing anything.

You're bullshit thyself, both times I&IS were just impromptus, so naturally Freddie and all the group didnt their best. On the other hand, I like Freddies version of Immingrant song, its only a pity he sang only small fragment from it. Maybe there's full version of it somewhere.
I'm not saying Freddie's voice could fit any song although he was a tremendous singer but I have to ask how anyone can slag off his version of Imagine. I have not heard him sing Immigrant song so i can't comment but he sang Imagine great. I'm a huge fan of John Lennon but Freddie did sing Imagine very well and certainly not terrible. Freddie did a better job of singing Imagine than John Lennon could of singing We Are The Champions anyway. Freddie was only singing it as a tribute anyway not even trying to outdo Lennon but it sounds great to me. He hit every note and even went higher than Lennon so how was it bad?
WHAT!?!?!?!? FREDDIE HAS SUNG IMAGINE!?!??! When!? Where!? What album/concert!?!?! I need to listen to that!!!
Besides that...I think Freddie's voice would perfectly fit these songs:
"Stairway to Heaven" - Led Zeppelin(Freddie Mercury>Robert Plant and Plant himself knows this)
"Wish You Were Here" - Pink Floyd
"Rock And Roll All Night" - KISS
"Keep On Loving You" - REO Speedwagon(ESPECIALLY THIS!!!)
"I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight" - Cutting Crew(and this one)
Queen played Imagine on December 9th 1980 at Wembley Arena in tribute to John Lennon who was murdered the day before. It was just Freddie singing with Brian on guitar. i think Freddie sang it very well.
