In fact, that (and not Budapest) was Queen's first forray behind the Iron Curtain. But to the best of my knowledge the show has not been recorded or filmed. V. |

"...which is capital of Slovenia... (though it was Yugoslavia in those days)". - I think s.m. was pointing out that theCro got the year wrong, and is well aware that Ljubljana is in Slovenia (as it is now). |

Yugoslavia was a socialist country, but was not a member of the "Warsaw Pact". I think there was a "bit" more day by day liberty there, than in other communist countries at the same time, which were under the (indirect) control of the USSR . |

Nothing from this concerts was ever released. There are some rumours that maybe some parts find their way to the "Live Killers" album. The shows seem to be recorded for this album and I guess they spent their days in the archives because Greg Brooks write a lot about the audience and Freddies contact to them in his book "Queen-Live". I´m sure he wasn´t there so he must have listen to a recording. regards W. |

It's true (for younger readers) that Yugoslavia always had a different sort of status from other Eastern countries. People from the West went there on holidays for example. |

The people of East-Germany were not allowed to travel to Yugoslavia. They met relatives and friends in Hungary or Czechoslovakia instead. W. |

I´m sure he wasn´t there so he must have listen to a recording.Yep... for sure. They have indeed lots and lots of audio from 1979. Greg's book also learns us some Crazy tour shows were recorded. He transcribes stage banter AND he mentions it in his intro or prologue or how do you call it. If I remember correctly this are his exact words:'...and several crazy tour shows I hadn't even heard on bootleg'. This info makes me wonder if a crazy tour release(audio) would be possible? Would that not be even better than Live Killers(being europe'79)? Anyway, a fantastic 79 audio release is very high on my personal want list. |

I was always puzzled by that as I could not find any reference for recording being made in Croatia or Slovenia. My gramophone is dead so I can't check which part that really is. |
