Hi, sorry, I seem to be asking a lot of 'Stones-related questions but after seeing them live they are fast becoming a favourite of mine (after Queen of course) for those who don't know Brian Jones was a one-time member of the Rolling Stones. He is, to many, the creative genius that sparked the Rolling Stones. I personally greatly admire his many talents. He was no great shakes at writing but at playing basically any instrument he picked up, including the sitar on 'Paint it, Black,'! Whatever, I was wondering how he died. I know he was found at the bottom of a swimming pool and I always thought he'd died of an overdose or it was maybe suicide. He was a mess at the end. But there was a tribute to BJ on YouTube, the comments said that he'd been murdered, held under the water by some weirdos and someone named Peter Keylock (or something) had a major part to play in his death. Clarification needed please?? Is this the typical response from some of the fuckwits at YT who think they know it all when they post 'Freddie wrote Bo Rhap 'cos he was dying of HIV' in the Comments section of the Bo Rhap video, or is there an element of truth in the tale of murder????
Witness To A Murder (Part Two) by Mansun. Written about Brian Jones by No.1 Brian Jones look-a-like Dominic Chad and making Tom Baker cool again long before Little Britain was born. Class.
DCM wrote: hello (rbq.) the official reason for his death is that he attempted to go for a swim while intoxicated and drowened. this happened during a wild party at his estate . though some part goers told police that he was held under the water by a person or persons though perhaps not intenionly. but no one would testify to this in court.
Hi DCM, yes I have heard about this film, 'Stoned' I want to see it now!! Tells the story (apparently) of Brian's final days. I wish I'd seen that UK Music Hall of Fame thing on the Rolling Stones. It was actually titled 'Who Killed the Rolling Stone?' It was probably good for a fledgling fan like me as there was also a program about Queen on which was the first documentary about Queen I saw when I wasn't such a big fan as I am now. It still remains to this day, the best one I've seen! Channel 4 are considerably better at documenting rockstar's lives than ITV!
