Freddie's #1 Fan Forever 09.09.2006 20:58 |
Hi Guys, What a great story about Freddie!! However, do we really know that it is true? I mean, what if random people are posting things on the news board that are not true? We need proof! |

You don't, why would this women lie? I believe it, Freddie was a kind person, I am giving her the benefit of doubt. |
Joeker 10.09.2006 02:10 |

millbrookmusic 10.09.2006 02:34 |
i'd like to believe it. actually i'd love to believe. I also know that I've seen two similar versions of this letter posted in various places. Both are telling the same story by the same person but there's some differences. Anyone noticed this? |

Do you know the story that is behind Freddie's "Keep Smilin'" track? So why THIS story can't be true and what kind of proofs you need? |
TomP 10.09.2006 03:23 |
whats the story behind Keep Smiling?? |
Serry... 10.09.2006 03:41 |
There's line "Colin keep smilin'!" in the song, remember? There was a 25 years old Queen fan in Plymouth named Colin Peterson, he's got in coma after car crash. Freddie had heard about that and record "Keep smilin'" especially for him, tape was sent to hospital, but Colin died and the cassette was buried with him. |
TomP 10.09.2006 03:51 |
Freddie is GOd. ok thanks for the info! too bad colin died |
TomP 10.09.2006 03:54 |

If you're being sarcastic, you really got me going, but if you're serious, I have to wonder why it's not talked about more often. |

Just open the box set book and you'll find near "Keep Smilin" "In memory of Colin Preston" line (sorry I named him Peterson in the previous reply). The story is absolutely true. And as I already wrote it's in the lyrics even: Keep smilin' Keep smilin' Colin keep smilin', yeah Keep smilin' |

I beleive serry also, it is good to believe in something good for the heart, and for the soul. |
Fireplace 11.09.2006 10:29 |
Are you guys thick or what? Serry isn't the source of all this, he hasn't worked for Queen Productions in a long time (eg. never). It's in biographies, newspapers and on a CD booklet in the Freddie Box. Not believing it is like saying the WTC towers are still standing. Can't you read or do you think the whole world has conspired to make you look like fools? Well don't bother, you already do. |
Serry... 11.09.2006 11:16 |
Funny how easy people believe in crap about Freddie and how it's hard to believe in something good about him... |

Serry... wrote: Funny how easy people believe in crap about Freddie and how it's hard to believe in something good about him...It's not that it's hard to believe in something good about him, it's the "Oh you think he's god" comments and other sarcasims thrown around here all the time. It makes it near impossible to believe anything on these boards. It's nice to know that the more rational queenzoners (Serry) are the ones saying these good things about him. And to Fireplace - no, Serry isn't the source of the stories, but he's one of the few trusted Queenzoners here. And for the record, not everyone is as well-read as you, apparently, regarding Freddie. That's why we ask questions. A fool is not someone who asks questions or double checks an answer. A fool is someone who forgets he asks questions now and then, too. |
you_rock_my_socks06 11.09.2006 13:09 |
Freddie was a really kind person (to people he didn't know maybe not always to the people he knew but whatever) Cos I did a piece of coursework on him and all of the people hu knew him said that if he heard about someone in major debt or something he would automatically reach for his chequebook and send off a cheque annomously because he liked REAL people. Also what is wrong with the fact that everyone always needs proof on here can't people just believe stuff without needing solid rock evidence. Not everyone is a compulsive liar and why lie about stuff like this. :) |
Micrówave 11.09.2006 13:35 |
Why does it matter if it's true or not? Is someone here doing their thesis or something? (Or maybe a "book report"?) |
