i just finished watching the queen portion of the vh1 rock honors....i think that what other people said about them was very nice, the tribute video made me tear up and the performance was good...after i watched it, i hugged my dog and screamed that it was awesome and she swung her huge head and her tooth hit the inside of my nose really hard so now im bleeding a lot and trying not to get blood on the keyboard....it was good to see them again, i missed em..... (i put this on another bulletin, but oh well...) |

He also has a striking resemblance to that opera diva Monserrat. His vocal range is a living proof. |

Paul's a great singer, I just wish he'd work more on how he presents himself. He needs to stop twirling that mike stand and throwing it around. I'm scared it's going to whack Brian in the head! |

I thought it was very good, bri is awesome and in top form as rog taylor, as for paul rogers? to bluesy, and I also never heard a freddie qoute as paul being one of his favorite singers. I really missed freddie watching them perform, it was sad and not the same. I loved def lepord they are great! |

oh. my. god. wow! that was awesome... what great performances, though I wish they hadn't cut Under Pressure... on the other hand, that would have been a tradeoff for another tune, so... I give in. And Brian's playing on 20th Century Boy was soooooo cool! Just brilliant!. |

That was awesome! I loved it all! I think they presented themselves very well. Sounded stronger than ever and Paul did a GREAT job...they all did...and I really liked what Kiefer Sutherland had to say about them cause I related to him on every point he made. Awesome show...hope that everyone saw it! Cheers |

For those who missed the show, you can watch all the performances right now at link on the Rock Honors Vspot. No idea when this will air in the UK, but Brian's site says the show will re-air on Saturday at midnight and on Sunday at 1 PM ET. Queen rocked! It was cool how they gave Queen the most air-time, seeing as how KISS were the "headliners" and most of Amurica probably doesn't consider Queen as hard as the rest of the bands. |

I thought they sounded good-I really liked it when Roger joined in on drums half-way through the song. As far as critizing Dave Grohl's vocal ability-he's not a melodic singer...so what? He's a big fan of Queen and showed tremendous energy and respect for the band...that's good enough for me. On the other hand, I didn't think Def Lep's set was bad, but Joe Elliot's vocals were a little weak, but they looked like they were having fun. One last note, I never really listened to Godsmack that much before, but their versions of Priest songs sounded great! |
PieterMC 01.06.2006 09:17 |
Brian and Roger really got more into the show than the other bands. Only two songs were supposed to be broadcast by each artist but they cheated :-) - Tie Your Mother Down (featured Brian & Roger) - The Show Must Go On - We Will Rock You - We Are the Champions Then Brian played with Def Leppard |
Lisser 01.06.2006 09:38 |
How about Roger's interview in the dressing room with Jamie Pressley? Gotta love that old perv! He's still got it!!! |
mystyfan 01.06.2006 09:55 |
Hi, I'm new here. :) Just thought I'd add my two cents: I love the Foo Fighters to begin with , so I really appreciated their version of "Tie Your Mother Down" . Although I wish they would have picked another song then that, say "Now I'm Here" or "Fat Bottomed Girls" , because they did "Tie Your Mother Down" as the tribute song to Queen back when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I didn't catch Judas Priest because I switched my tv over to Scifi to catch some of the Ghost Hunters finale for my husband. lol I did catch the begining of Def Leppard, and I agree that his voice was lacking during the first song.. To bad they can't telecast kariokie because I was singing it for him. ;) The second song though rocked. I really liked the KISS tribute. My husband is a HUGE fan of them and recently converted me. THAT was a terrific live show.. I really enjoyed the show and will be watching it again in a few hours when it is rerun. |

I know that this is a Queen forum, and I am a big KISS fan but I have always seen them as a glorified garage band. All you musicians can agree or disagree with me but there stuff was and is sooo simple. Without the make up and hoopla I don’t think that they would be a popular as they are. They were there same arrogant selfs last night. But like your little sister who gets on your nerves…..I still love e’m….. |
MercuryArts 01.06.2006 10:20 |
It was a good performance. Paul has sounded better. They didn't sing the second half of the 2nd verse on TSMGO, "I guess I'm learning..." I guess they wanted to shorten their time to get more aired on TV. I didn't know Kiefer Sutherland was a fan. Some if his speech sounded a little contrived. No mistaking it, the Foo's are really BIG fans! They made that point clear! Awesome!! I wish Pressure was aired. That was a hit here, so I'm a little surprised they didn't show that over TSMGO. But it was good over all. Def Lep were good. I thought Joe Elliot was struggling to sing Rock of Ages. He sounded much better on singing 20th Century Boy. I really am surprised that was aired. But overall a good night in the Queen world. |

And i must kinda defend Jamie Pressley in this because she is a fan of Rock and is actually a very intelligent woman. I saw her on something on MSNBC talking about her business and this stereotype on blondes. She was very very intelligent. Ok enough of my INSANE and INANE ramblings... IT ROCKED and I hope they put it out on DVD cuz id love to blast those performances on my surround sound! Cheers all! |

It was a wonderful show! I recorded it. Brian,Roger, and Paul look fit as ever, and I like Brian's pants(black with a white design on each leg). Very stylish! It made me cry when Roger was talking about how hard it was to lose Freddie, and they showed clips of Freddie laughing with them;)I liked when the lady was interviewing Kiss, and she was dancing with one of the guys, standing on his huge metal shoes! That was quite silly. And at the very end of the show, when everyone gathered on stage,Brian smiles so adorably;) |
