So...
The tour has ended. Super Live comes out tomorrow. Brian and Roger have hinted at the collaboration continuing. Studio time (whether it produces an album or not) seems likely down the road.
Still, these solo dates of Paul's may turn out to be pretty interesting. I'm wondering if he'll see increased attendance. But what I'm really thinking about is the possibility of him incorporating some of the songs performed on this tour into his solo set list.
Think he will tackle any of these in these shows? Has he Brian's and Roger's blessing to throw 'em in? And if so, which ones--the more popular stuff or the lesser-known ones that he has seemingly interpreted slightly better with his voice style/range?
Comments, please (if any).
I'll post as soon as I get back from the Foxwoods Casino show on May 20th
I know of alot of people who will be at that show
and as for me I am counting down the days till it happens
I dont think Paul will be doing any Queen songs, this is HIS show and I am sure he will performing his own songs with his solo band
And I for one am looking forward to hearing him perform his own songs
I consider his solo shows alot more than passively interesting, I think he is a GREAT vocalist and a very charismatic showman
Cant wait
Paul has a massive back catalogue, and I very much doubt he'll play any Queen.
Paul hasn't played any Firm stuff in his solo shows to my knowledge - I think those songs were only played on the Firms tours, apart from Blue Murder's first tour - they played "Closer" because Tony Franklin was in the band.
Paul's solo sets are usually Free and Bad Company orientated, with a smattering of blues and solo material.

I agree. I feel that Paul Rodgers will not perform Queen songs, simply because he would not want to ride the Q+PR success too far. People have already questioned his ability as frontman, claiming he is 'replacing Freddie'. Obviously, as stated so many many times by Brian, Roger, and Paul himself, he is not.
However, the usage of Paul's own songs during the Q+PR tours will help him. A lot.
The millions that saw him perform "All Right Now", "Can't Get Enough", and other Free/Bad Company favorites over the last year probably can't wait to hear more of his past works. I guarantee that at least a third of people who saw Q+PR became a little interested in Paul's solo projects.
So, in my opinion, I doubt any Queen material will be used in Paul's solo tour. But, it will be interesting to see what happens next with Queen + Paul Rodgers...

I have a boot from 2003 where he plays Satisfaction Guaranteed.
So there's at least one Firm tune he's done recently.
Here's the setlist of the gig to give a recent example of a PR setlist.
