In looking back on the American tour, I'd have to say it's "Tie Your Mother Down" - sure, the advantage for Q+PR is that its the first full song at every show, but the excitement of this song both on stage and in the crowd is more effective than any time Freddie has performed it - im sure anyone that has seen them live recently would agree - any other songs?
The excitement of the song both on stage and in the crowd is more effective than any time Freddie performed it? thats very funny havent you ever seen Freddie sing it then? he did it with more excitement at every show he sang it but just to pick one out for you paris 1979.
I like Paul Rodgers but no way does he sing Queen songs better than Freddie, and I don't get how some people think that he does Dragon Attack better than Freddie, are we listening to the same song?
Absolutely. I thought the Q+PR version of "All Right Now" was waaaay better that the Queen w/ Freddie version. Same thing for "Seagull", "Feel Like Making Love", "Can't Get Enough", "Bad Company" and "Rock'n'Roll Fantasy". Compared to the Q+PR versions, its like the Freddie version of those don't even exist.

I dont think Paul sings Dragon Attack better than Freddie (not by a long shot) but I do think the QPR version of the song sounds better than the Queen version...mainly because QPR plays the full complete song. Its just too bad we cant have John playing it on this tour..then it would be fucking amazing!
Just who here is really qualified to answer this question? I think one would have had to actually attend a Queen concert back in the old days. The DVDs/videos, etc. don't count (sorry younger fans.)
Paul better than Freddie? Freddie better than Paul? They're 2 completely different singers with completely different styles - you can't compare apples to apples when one's an apple and the other's an orange.
As far as I'm concerned, old or new - both are top notch in my book. I'm glad that I was able to experience the thrill of both.

I'm not sure Freddie would sound so great on those songs..just not his style IMO
but I would liken to hear him on Take Love...I bet he'd be good, better than Paul at least (dont think its possible to sound worse lol)
What I like about Paul is that he is singing them his own way. They could have gotten a guy who looks like Freddie and sounds a bit like him and it would just be a substandard imitation. While Paul should stop doing the 'de de de ect.' thing in AOBTD, he really sings it different. Not to mention hes a good singer in his own right.
But I think Freddie doing All Right Now and Take Love would be excellent.

I didn't know that they did.

Queen songs were written with Freddies' voice in mind, so they are clearly better with him singing them. Free/Bad Co songs were written with Pauls' voice in mind, so I doubt anyone, even our dear Freddie, could sing them better.
