I don't get the question either, could you rephrase it?
If you mean by any chance the lyrics then Freddie was just imporvising the 2e verse because there were either no finished lyrics yet or they were just not planning on finishing it anyway.
You stabbed your knife right in my back
Was it just something that I might have said
Does this mean we're falling out
I guess this means that our love has fallen out
If you wanna make a go
I will stay
I guess we're falling out
It was just one gone and gone away
I guess we're falling out
Guess we're falling out
Da, da, da, I wanna stay
I guess we're falling out
It was just one long race
I guess we're falling out
Falling out
Yeah, yeah, yeah, falling out, falling out, yeah
Two, three, four
There are definitely some guesses in your lyrics Serry. Jeff, my advice is to search the forum for the lyrics that were posted by myself and someone else. We nailed it! I'll also take a look for them, but please search for them yourself, too.
Peace,
Adam.
I had to bring this up again. Just downloaded this demo and I love it! Such a beautiful melody :)
There's one part of the piano melody that sound REALLY familiar. On the 2:35 mp3-file it comes at 1:06. It's really bothering me that I can't remember if it reminds me of a Queen/solo song or a song by some other artist.
I really love this song, I love this song more than My Baby Does Me, it's a shame that this never has been completed.
I think it would have fit great on "The Miracle"
album
I asked Greg Brooks on a Q and A session at QOL... "Is there a more complete version of 'I Guess We're Falling Out' in the archives than the one doing the rounds at the minute"?
His answer:
I THINK SO
Made me happy anyway.;-)
If Greg's answer is right... I wander why they did not work on it, instead, i.e., of re-working on My Life has been saved, in the MIH album.
In any case, do you think it could be used for any future release???
Great thread! Personally, the song is my favourite Queen demo by far. It's got a very magical feeling to it and they should have put on The Miracle.
I very much doubt that this is the only vocal take Freddie did of the song and it's more than likely that there are alternate version(s) in the Queen vaults.
I think the familiar piano bit sounds like something off the Barcelona album, not sure what, but that part has a semi-classical feel to it. I don't think the song sounds anything like My Life Has Been Saved - it sounds a lot better than both versions of it for a start and the chord structure is quite different.
Am I right in thinking that Brian wrote the song?
The song is really beautiful.. sad they did not finish it, it would have been perfect, in The Miracle, much more than Rain Must Fall, for instance.
I always thought that the beautiful ending of 'The Miracle', after the variation (personally I hate it), when theme "that time will come, one day you'll see..." enters into the song's pattern, is a kind of 'attachment' from another song. (Think, i.e., of Breaktrhu's intro!)
What if The Miracle's ending had something to deal with "Guess we're falling out"?
