New to QueenZone and need help.
I have a CD of Queen which I can not figure out if it is genuine or a fake. I'll give some background and see if anyone can help me.
I got it in a New Paltz, NY store in early 90's. Front cover is of the band, with May holding a staff with a skull and Freddie in a torn shirt with eyes on it.
The CD was made in 1991 by Mercury Records. It is called Queen Tribute In the Making. It has 17 songs.
Tracks 1-4 recorded BBC 1973
Sorry, I hit something and it submitted may message before i was done.
Tracks 5-8 BBC 1977
Tracks 9 & 10 1969 (Smile)
Tracks 11-17 Live Aid July 1985
It states it was made in EEC.
Music quility is fair to poor. With volume fades and talking during the live parts of people working at the concert.
Does anybody have any idea if this was a work in progress?
Any help will be appriciated.

It is indeed of poor quality, but at least it has what it is on the label. As John said, GHOST OF SMILE would be an excellent official alternative for the SMILE tracks. Also, it has ALL the tracks (albeit this bootleg has the single versions).
"Where did it come from"
The sources are correctly stated - 8 tracks from the BBC (John Peel Session-type), the "Smile" tracks are pre-Queen, and hopefully you've heard of Live Aid....
