On eBay today there were 615 Queen/Freddie Mercury items listed for sale worldwide in a plethora of different languages. Queen had one heck of a merchandising/marketing organization. For those of you who attended outdoor concerts, what was buying Queen stuff like? Crowded / efficient / expensive / frantic / limited amounts, etc.?
Back in the old days....the concert merchandise was pricey. They always sold pretty cool looking Tee shirts, tour jackets and cocert programs, but the line was always long and crazy.
Of course, I was one of the people in line to buy stuff. Usually the best items sold out very quickly. I think Queen made a quite a bit of cash selling their memorabilia at concerts.
I have a bright yellow w/ black and red JAZZ tour tee that I thought looked weird at the time. I don't wear it. I haven't seen any reproductions of this one for sale either.
the amount of homemade Queen items on ebay is staggering. And for the most part staggeringly bad.
Clocks, coasters, t-shirts, nesting eggs, figurines etc...
So I'd be willing to bet a big portion of your search results on Ebay arent even worth looking and is not reflective Of Queen's merchandising.
oh yea, forgot about the toilet paper.
