"Thank God It's Christmas" or "A Winter's Tale"
Which of these two christmas songs is your favorite?
I like A Winter's Tale more actually, I'm getting more a christmas feeling with that song.

A Winter's Tale. It's my favourite song and it's beautiful. I could listen to it all day more than Thank God It's Christmas.
Just listened to both (GH3) and I must agree. AWT is much better, but it's nice to have two different Xmas tunes. Most bands don't even have one or just cover one that's been done a zillion times.
Can I say both?
Thank God it's Christmas - Freddie's voice is stunning on this one (even more so than usual, IMO)
A Winter's Tale - for the beautiful, warm images it brings.

A winters tale is way better.Thank Gos its Christmas didnt come in top Ten, In the UK.
Thank God It's Christmas
I simply can't be thinking of the fact that Freddie was dying while singing A Winter's Tale. I know this is a lame reason, but that song makes me sad and I don't want to be sad on Christmas.
A Winter's Tale is much better lyrically, and it is just a really nice song. Not that I don't like the other, but this is one song that I think every person comes up with their own little music video in their head when it's listened to.
Thank God It's Christmas...no reason just prefer it.

If a I was asked which song I liked better, TGIC or AWT I'd have to say undoubtedly..."Yes".Anyways,...
Merry X-Mas,
Rocking Quanza,
Happy Xenu to you, Scientologists,
Have a glowing festival of light Hannakuians,
Ramadan you hearts out who ever Ramadans,
Pagans and tree worshipers...happy Terapocian transedentalism meditation (becomming one with nature/trees).
Cheerful Zoroastrianism day.
To all Buddists, merry contimpanting-your-navel and may you lint be plenty and flowing.
And to all Athiest...Happy Sunday.
[I think it would have been fun if Queen had put out alternate TGIC...with the other religions/etc. As B-sides on a single e.g., "Thank god it's Quanza."].

A Winter's Tale is not on GH3. I've always wondered why since it charted higher than some of other tracks in the same album and some of them didn't really belong there (TSMGO with Elton, Rah Mix, Wyclef??). I used to defend Brian's "we want to bring Queen to a new audience" motto but Wyclef Jean's version of AOBTD doesn't belong in a Queen Greatest Hits album.
I kinda liked Five's version of We Will Rock You and Robbie's WATC but disliked Wyclef and Britney/Beyonce/Pink. Ok, bring Queen's music to a new audience but don't shove that kind of crap into other more casual fans (regarding AOBTD's inclusion in GH3).

'A Winter's Tale' - no doubt. I wouldn't even compare it with 'Thank God...', which was just an average christmas single. 'A Winter's Tale' is so much more than this!
yes, A Winter's Tale. It's such a nice thought that despite being so frail, Freddie's voice remained brilliant (it actualy improved for me.) The optimism is typical of his courage. A marvellous song with lovely lyrics too.
Songwise, A Winter's Tale wins over Thank God it's Christmas.. heck, I think it's above a lot of the Queen catalogue really.
However, I don't associate it with Christmas at all, but rather a part of life we're all going to wind up facing at some time or another. So really, to answer your question I'd actually say TGIC is better for this time of year.
Especially considering it's not winter for half of the world :P

definately AWT not saying that TGIC is bad but its better by quite a long shot
Even though I first heard TGIC on the CD single for AWT, I still have to say that I prefer TGIC by quite a long mile and always have done as it brings back lots of happy memories for me.
