hey i was just wondering if anybody knows what the next (if there is) Concert live dvd will be. I hope its the Knebworth one, as this is considered one of their best live gigs. But was it broadcast? thanks- |

I hope we soon get a new livedvd but I don't expect it too soon.I think we have to wait since there are some other releases planned first.Dvd from this tour and ANATOdvd. That's the one thing that I hate about this tour:we have to wait longer for queen(with freddie)products. In the meantime we can enjoy that stuff of course.I personally hope for Hammy'79!!Would be great to have that as an official release. |

It looks like Queen themselves aren't too excited to release 70's stuff which is of course a pitty.I would like to see the both hammy's and houston for sure!!They must be able to fix whatever problems there are with those tapes. |
Penetration_Guru 15.10.2005 10:23 |
The plan as stated by Simon Lupton at the convention is for a 70's DVD. |

My dear friends... the next concert DVD will be Houston 11-12-1977 !!!. Just go to link and search August 2005... Here´s the complete article (also posted on link THE FANS HAVE SPOKEN! (DVD POLL RESULTS OUT) Queen fan, Richard Guilbault (inu-liger), reports on a poll he has conducted to ask opinions from Queen fans around the world, which DVD they would like to see next as a live Queen DVD release. The polls are now closed and results as follows: Over 1130 votes (1139 to be exact) were cast in the main poll. While none of the concerts managed to gain a majority of the votes (50% or more), Houston came out as the leading concert in the poll with 309 votes (27% of the votes). The top 5 concerts that the fans voted as what they would like to see, are as follows (with numbers of votes cast on each and their percentage listed): #1 - Houston, USA - 1977 (309 / 27%) #2 - Hyde Park, London, UK - 1976 (172 / 15%) #3 - Rainbow Theatre, London, UK - 1974 (165 / 14%) #4 - Concert For Kampuchea, London, UK - 1979 (138 / 12%) #5 - Hammersmith Odeon, London, UK - 1975 (113 / 10%) The complete results can be seen at: link In the secondary poll regarding the audio format(s), 355 votes were cast. Out of those votes, 46% opted for not only DTS and PCM, but also Dolby Digital 5.1 to be used on the next DVD, while 30% opted to let Brian, Roger, Justin Shirley-Smith and co. decide what they would like to do with the soundtracks, whether they'd like to continue their current PCM/DTS course or choose a different route. The complete results for that poll can be seen at: link Thanks goes again to everyone that voted! Your votes count! Richard G |

Houston is boring. The crowd is practically silent. |
Rick 15.10.2005 11:31 |
Do you find it strange? It's a SOUNDBOARDRECORDING, the audience isn't mixed, although not good enough. Houston was great audience, really. You can hear them shout etc. |

Budapest would be a great dvd:the quality is just astounding, both audio and video. There is much footage from that tour and also from budapest(soundcheck, the band in budapest, etc.)I would really love to see this on dvd. There are 4 shows that they must release:1)Hammy 79 2)Hammy 75 3)budapest 4)Houston All these shows are great!!You can maybe add Rainbow and earl's court |

n why won't they release another '86 show? |
Snefru 15.10.2005 20:01 |
Hi all Knebworth will NEVER be released on DVD,becourse it was NOT proffesional filmed. Those 'clips' which are on 'magic years' video etc.. are ALL from the screen cameras, the large stage screen. Greg Brooks told me that they are 'looking' on Hammersmith 79 and Paris 79. There might be a 2 DVD release of both concert. A dbl concert release. But, it's NOT sure yet, if it will be released as this. link |

I'd kinda like to see Live At The Rainbow and the Xmas 75 shows released legitimately on DVD. I'd like to know if more footage of the Live At The Rainbow show exists somewhere in the archives. It's clear that there's a couple edits during Father To Son, would like to know if the complete song doesn't exist somewhere. Does anyone know what the complete show of the Rainbow concert was, anyway? I know I've seen other bootlegs from that tour that are more than an hour long, so I'm thinking they surely played more songs than what was broadcast at the actual show, right? Anyway, I mention those two shows, because tehy're the ones that look and sound the best, since they were apparently done for the purrposes of being broadcast at the time. The others that I know of appear to mostly be things that were filmed for archival purposes (except maybe Hyde Park, maybe they had actually intended to show that on TV or release it to cinemas or something). As for other shows, Hyde Park might be interesting, IF they can get it to look and sound better. If they have a multi-track tape to work with, they'd have to balance Freddie's mics properly (everytime he sits down at the piaano, his vocal level drops noticably), and they'd probably have to overdub Roger's vocals, since his mic apparently wasn't working (or at least, it's not working during March Of The Black Queen). I think the other ones I'd be most interested in seeing are Houston 77 (is that the ADATR tour or NOTW?), Earls Court (which is a really good show, but my copy has really funky sound and video quality) and Hammersmith 79 (that's the Kampuchea concert, right?). And even if the footage exists of a given show was just stuff that was being done for the video screens (as per Knebworth), so what? Isn't that what was done with Earl's Court? And it still looks really nice. And what about the three South American shows from 80 and 81? I know there's websites that sell three shows, one's from Caracas, another from Sao Paolo, I think, I forget where the third one is from. Would be interesting to see those. |

Still a great show though. Which begs the question - QP claimed to have found the show complete in the archives and released it in 1992, if this isn't the complete show, why did they only release an edit? |

I'm sure they will one day release Budapest but of course not immediately!!First we will have stuff from other era's.The idea from a double concert-dvd:paris and hammy is fantastic!!i would be very pleased with that!!!I'm also hoping for some legendary concerts that aren't filmed on cd only.Would be great to hear freddie at his live best for example!!and to hear unreleased songs!! |

Something I don't understand is why people always complain. They want lots of official stuff but when one names budpast some say:we already have wembley. When you name hammy:we already have it on bootleg!!We have almost all shows that are filmed on bootleg so nothing is exciting anymore ,isn't it.I WANT IT ALL.All official stuff that is with good audio and video quality and nice packaged is very welcome!!Some people must agree upon this.I for one feel that with wembley and milton keynes we already have two great dvds and there are more to follow. That's great news isn't it:-) |

Houston 1977 is a fantastic gig, and as most of soundboard recordings, the audience is tad low in the mix, but the performance of the band was truly killer, exciting and terrific. All members in top form, oustanding renditions of the songs. Also the setlist is fantastic. I´d love to see both Houston 1977 and Hammersmith 1979 on DVD. |

Not that I know my arse from my elbow when predicting what QUEEN will do next... but my money is on a 70's show. Let's face it, they've pretty much covered the good 80's shows (Wembley and Milton Keyes). Budapest *is* out there for those who want to look for it... That they haven't done a 70's one yet seems to me a good reason to do it next. But personally I'd rather that they get GH3 out of the way, it's got some of my favourite videos on it (Slightly Mad, TATDOOL) that I don't have at the moment. |
Fenderek 17.10.2005 08:41 |
hammys- both of 'em. If 1979 would be paired with paris- thatw ould be ecen better :) But I'm sceptical... Rainbow- full. Not only songs are missing- how about KYA? What is it- a minute or something? There are sooo many edits it's unbeliavable. I'd love to see the whole show one day Houston- bring it on! Earls Court? Why not, but it's not theitr best performance... Budapest i'm sure WILL BE released but not in the nearest future... What I would REALLY want to see (and I'm sure I won't) is Tokyo, 1st of May 1975. This is ULTIMATE setlist, with hangman, Great King rat, See What A Fool I've Beena nd Doing All Right. That, paired with hammy 79 (more possible) would have been a dream come true... |
