Hi folks, you all heard about our fellow Queenzoner LiveAidQueen who lost everything when her home was hit by the hurricane Katrina. In a disaster like this we should stick together and therefore I ask all of you who can afford it to make a small donation to help Kayla to get over the worst. Melissa (lisser) has kindly provided for a US paypal account. Please paypal your contribution to m.raper@insightbb.com If you don't have paypal and want to help anyway, please send an email to Melissa if you are in the USA and to me (YourValentine @ Queenzone.com) if you are somewhere else. Melissa will post her email address herself. As a US resident she will send Kayla a money order or personal cheque. If you have any questions or suggestions how we can make this better, please post here. Thank you. trying to unstick this |
Lisser 04.10.2005 22:59 |
The email address Barb has provided in this post is where you can email me for my address if you need to mail a check or money order for Kayla as opposed to using paypal. You can make the check or money order out to me or Kayla, although I do not know Kayla's last name, I am fairly certain that Barb does. Kayla is a minor so we will probably be asking that the checks or money orders be made out to her c/o her mother's name, which I think is Brittany right Barb? Either way, anything is much appreciated for Kayla and her family. Many of you have my ICQ#, my work email, and my MSN address you can use as well to contact me as well. Feel free to post any questions or comments to myself or Barb in this post. Western Union, I suppose is a possibility. I'm not too familiar with how it works as I've never used it, but I do know that Western Union is widely used in the States. I'll research this for you Alex and Marial. I know now is not a good time to ask for financial assistance with the holidays coming up, gas prices increasing, etc. However, a little goes a long way. If we can all pull together some spare cash, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how it will add up given the number of Zoners that care so much about Kayla. Thanks everyone!!! |

For how long do we have to send in what we can? |
Lisser 04.10.2005 23:14 |
Barb and I have not decided on a time limit but of course the sooner the better to get the money to Kayla and her family. However, we understand that you can't donate if the money isn't there today but will be there next week. I'd like to get the money to her family within the next two weeks....how does that sound to you all? Any suggestions are welcome. |

western union would have to be done directly to kayla and family... the fee may be a bit pricey too... i can check on that... lisser i dont have you icq.. got your aim though |

Why not use moneybookers? I'd love to help but fairly enough I don't trust paypal one single bit. |
YourValentine 05.10.2005 02:34 |
What is moneybookers, Pete? |
Winter Land Man 05.10.2005 02:54 |
I'd help, but I don't use paypal. Can I send a check or cash to you Lisser and you can cash it (if I send a check) or whatever and send it to Kayla? |

Th problem is that most people use paypal. Let's hope they do not rob us. We will raffle a couple of (bootleg) DVDs and one Original Live At Wembley DVD from my collection among the zoners who help. |

Barb, would it be an idea to wait after the Dutch convention? Maybe we could do something over there to collect a bit more money?? Bring a big jar or something and just collect? Dunno, just a thought. I'm sure Anja will be happy to announce something on the day. |
LiveAidQueen 05.10.2005 20:35 |
You guys are amazing, I can't even tell you how much I appreciate your help. It honestly touches me that people I've never met in my life care so much. Thank you with all my heart. I love you guys. |
flash00. 05.10.2005 21:18 |
dont use western union!! it charges an arm and a leg for charges. paypal is your best option and its easy to set up an account. |
NoOneButYou1975 05.10.2005 22:33 |
will money orders work too? |
Mr. Scully 06.10.2005 03:19 |
Western Union sucks, the fees are terrible. Cash is the only 100% working way of payment :) Plus PayPal and money orders are available in some countries. At least one of these three options will work everywhere :) I'm discussing with Barbara some auction of bootlegs - fuck the copyrights in this case. |
YourValentine 06.10.2005 04:08 |
NOBY1975, money order is an option. Please email Melissa - see email above. |
Lisser 06.10.2005 10:00 |
It is definitely not safe to send cash from most Latin American countries. The post offices can be quite corrupt, am I right Marial? I do not suggest sending cash hidden in an envelope either. There are just too many things that could happen. The odds are against it but with cash, if it's gone it's gone. If you mail a money order or check, then it can be cancelled or tracked. However if sending cash hidden in an envelope is your only means of helping, then do so at your own risk. It is a risk. Anyone wanting to mail a money order or personal check in the mail to me needs to email me for an address. Thanks everyone. |
YourValentine 06.10.2005 11:08 |
European Union residents can make a EU bank transfer which does not cost more than a national bank transfer - except Italians because Italian banks ignore the EU law. If you are a EU resident and want to make a bank transfer, please email me. |
Mr. Scully 07.10.2005 03:21 |
Lisser - I've sent cash 1000 times already, about 2x it got lost and 2x it was stolen. Pretty good percentage :) Post offices are usually very safe, the only exceptions (from my experiences) being South America, Italy, Eastern Europe, maybe Spain. Marial - so there's some kind of law that you can't just buy $$$ in the exchange office? Or any foreign currency? So if you decide to go on holiday abroad, you have no chance of buying $$$ quickly? YV - it's not only Italy, I told you about it :) ANY foreign transfer for me costs AT LEAST 10-15 euros. |
YourValentine 07.10.2005 04:48 |
That will probably change when you get the euro, Martin. But then everything will be so expensive that you have no money left to transfer somewhere :-) |
Lisser 07.10.2005 09:47 |

I know how it would make me feel to have money lost or stolen in the mail and I wouldn't want it to happen to anyone else. Anyone who wants to send money hidden through the mail is welcome to do so, I just hope it makes it to me so I can get it to Kayla. Again, thank you everyone that has already donated. We have a very generous group here. |
YourValentine 07.10.2005 10:49 |
Yes, of course. If you want, we will also post your donation here. |
Lisser 07.10.2005 10:52 |
Absolutely...to the people that have donated, if you want it known that you have donated and if you want the amount known, either let Barb or myself know. Be specific as to whether you just want your name posted or if you want your name and the amount you donated posted. I can tell you that I have received 4 donations from Zoners. Until I hear from the 4 people that have donated, I won't say much more than that. |

On a side note, if anyone that lives outside of the United States that does not have access to Paypal, wants to send a donation to Kayla's family, email me for her mother's work address. Since Kayla's home was destroyed, she obviously has no address to send mail to. We feel it would be better for people that live outside the USA but do not have Paypal, to mail their donations directly to Kayla since time is of the essence. The address that we have access to is her mother's work and that is where the donation we are collecting her for her will go to as well. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Barb or myself. Again, thank you so much for all your help!!! :) |

I would say that if there was a fee, we would need to contact the place that Kayla's family intends on cashing the money order to. I'm just not sure on this. I am sending Kayla a personal check for the amount that we've collected via paypal for her family so there should not be any charge to her for this. Also, thank you so much to the people that have recently donated. The response lately has been awesome!!! Keep it coming Zoners!!!! We'd like to send it to Kayla with in the next few days. :) |
LiveAidQueen 18.10.2005 12:06 |
Robin, yes I believe I got it yesterday. Ask me if there is anything I can do. Thank you so much, I can't tell you enough. |
Lisser 19.10.2005 11:08 |
Ok everyone, we've got a nice sum of money collected for Kayla (We love you gurly!!) Thank you to everyone that has donated. The response has been great. I'd like to be able to send Kayla a check in Friday's mail. If anyone would like to squeeze in a donation before then, feel free. There is still time. Also, if you'd like to know the amount we've collected for Kayla before she receives it, please email me. We'd like Kayla to be pleasantly surprised when she receives our donations!! I will post the amount once she confirms she's received it. Thanks again everyone!!! :) |
LiveAidQueen 19.10.2005 13:00 |
In all honesty, I've been helped by you all here more than I have my own family members and it touches me to the heart that you guys would do something like this for me and I will always be thankful. Thank you so much forever. |
Lisser 19.10.2005 13:56 |
We love you to death Kayla and there isn't anything we wouldn't do for you. We are a family here, complete with fights, friends, and hair pulling, broken limbs, etc. You'd help any of us out if we needed it and we are proud to be able to help you. :) |

Hey I just saw this, is it too late for a donation, I mean through Paypal? Fairy |
YourValentine 20.10.2005 08:20 |
No, it's not too late at all:) Melissa has withdrawn the money from Paypal and writes a cheque over the total sum collected on paypal and the money that was mailed to her. The cheque will be mailed to Kayla tomorrow. There are payments on their way, there will most likely be a 2nd cheque, so feel free to help out if you can. Every cent is needed. We are thinking of publishing the names of the Zoners who have generously helped so far tonight. Thank you all and thank you for trusting us with your money:) |
Fairy 20.10.2005 08:24 |
OK Barbara thanks so much to you guys for doing this. Sorry I saw this just now - I don't hang out much in the personal forum. I'll try with Paypal tonight, I hope it all works and I can send my donation. Thanks |
