Does anyone know who Paul Prenter was, in the history of Queen?
I recently uncovered a collectible item with his name on it and trying to figure out who he was?!
He was an ugly little fart with big fat glasses and a stupid mustache. Dont know why there were so many ugly people around freddie in the 80's. what was he thinking!? Jim Beach is another shrek...

Their need was in good manager and lawyer, not in Brad Pitt nor David Beckham, you know...
Wow - thanks for the info folks.
The reason I asked is that I have a silver disc award from Warner-Pioneer Japan that says:
"Warner-Pioneer Japan Congratulates Paul Prenter on the superlative single 'Crazy little thing called love' - 1981"

I don't think the man with those giant glasses were Paul Prenter. Paul Prenter didn't have glasses I thought. Kurt Raab had the big glasses, right? (Rebecca)
Anyway, here is Paul Prenter's photo. link

He died of aids in 1991 aswell,in august I think. He and freddie didn't get on anymore at the end of the eighties because
prenter told the press freddie had aids.Of course, freddie was angry as can be about this.
He was first a hanger on to Freddie and then became his personal manager but really his job was to pick out men for Freddie. He was a real nasty bugger and not many of Freddie friends really liked or trusted him. Eventually he sold his story to the Sun and Freddie refused to speak to him. I certainly cannot blame him.
He died before Freddie in 1991.
I don't think Jim Beach wanted Paul Prenter as personal manager/assistant. It was John Reid to suggest Prenter to Queen after he got fired in the late 70s. Reid didn't have bad aims though. He simply wanted that someone would strongly follow Queen members around the world, since Reid was a very operative manager with Queen. Brian, John and Roger refused Prenter's services after a while (who knows why.....) so he shifted straight to Freddie personal affairs. Freddie, as we know it, was a very good person, and had been tricked by Prenter in the end.
Blathnaid, because your uncle was a greedy back stabbing two faced cunt devoid of any moral compass we tend not to talk about him in a positive light here. I hope this does not offend you, but the guy was a complete cunt who's actions did untold damage to Freddie & indeed the band in the early 80's. Nothing personal, I hope you understand you are never going to generate any positive discussion about that man here.
He was from Belfast. He used to be a dj on a local radio station, Downtown Radio. Think he left that job in the late 70's to work with Freddie/Queen full time. By all accounts, he was not a very well liked individual and a nasty piece of work. When Freddie first moved into Garden Lodge, he gave Prenter the keys to his Stafford Terrace flat and a big wad of money to go out as often as he wanted. According to Peter Hince(Ratty), Prenter had a party in The flat, and it got trashed. So Freddie sacked him. Prenter apparantely said "I'm gonna do this" and "I'm gonna do that" and shortly afterwards he sold his lurid story to The Sun...

Interesting. Do you have a source to back this up?
As far as history tells, Queen began to manage themselves after they amicably split with Reid in early 1978. Even in a 1979 TV interview Freddie is seen saying they manage themselves.
