Thanks John! But - wasn't GHII released in October 1991? Or you just put this as post-Innuendo era release with no matter of the year? And - 'One Vision' on GHII is single mix too. |

1992-11 Brian May Interview ITV (don't have exact date, any help appreciated) 1992-08-28 Brian Interview MTV News Also, Brian made an appearance on the US Rockline show in April 1992, about one week before the tribute concert (April 13?). Rockline also broadcast parts of the show intercut with various interviews on April 20. And in the fall of 1992 (September I think), Brian and Roger appeared on the MTV Music Awards to pick up an award for best song in a movie and presented the Vanguard award to Guns n Roses. |

Serry "... wasn't GHII released in October 1991? Or you just put this as post-Innuendo era release with no matter of the year?" That is absolutely correct Serry. Queen: Greatest Hits II CD - Released: 28 October 1991 Queen: Classic Queen (US version of GHII) - Released: 10 March 1992 Essentially, this is just a cataloguing exercise which was designed to keep both the UK and US versions of "Hits" in tandem, and to seperate these "Hits" from "Innuendo", also, much of the interview material at this time surrounds GHII/Classic Queen. Therefore, I have banded them all together in the same bundle - as it were. I know we have been here before, and, I guess we can all use various "correct" methods of identification, and division - but, perhaps I should have been more clearer at the outset, that this "set" deals more with the "Hits" albums as a series - than the exact release dates. Appologies for any such confusion. Also, many, many thaks to one and for all the variuos contributions - they are trurly appreciated. |
Chaka 19.08.2005 15:33 |
to be specific, GHII was released October 28, 1991 the unique US Hollywood Records re-release of GHI was on September 15, 1992 |

Ammendments: "Now I'm Here (feat. Brian) from Freddie's Tribute also released on Def Leppard's single 'Tonight'.. I deliberately avoided all the Freddie Tribute singles, (Gun's 'n Roses, Metallica, George Michael etc) as if you own the tribute DVD - you have the tracks anyway. Remember, this is not an ultimate bibliography - it's a collection - so I have listed the most popular, cheapest and easiest versions. Likewise if you own "Back To The Light", then obviously, you will have all the session musicians also. Wembley (and it's various formats) will all be included in 1986 etc... Classic Queen and the One Vision (7” single version) from Greatest Hits II were a genuine oversight - but the omission of "Last Horizon" - Download Backing Track Version from link was unforgivable - I completely forgot about it - thanks for bringing that back to mind. I have edited my original entry to take all these points into consideration - including the Brian May interviews that I did not know about. Again, thanks to all for their contributions - and for helping to perfect these ultimate lists. |

Man, i usually not laugh at all, but this one really brought some tears into my eyes. John S Stuart, have you ever considered to release some kind of unhauthorised (suposing that Greg is the only one allowd to do ...) book about Queen?- I would apreciate that, or you could do a Site sharing all your knowledge about Queen. The thing is, you are sharing with us all this information, and there are a lots of people that are going to make money with it, wether is with a book, or with a site. I remember some years ago i bought a book about Queen and their charts success around the world and their colaborations with other musicians. Man, as i was reading the book i saw that the authors didn't research at all, they just went sneaking into some fans internet pages and copy the information. You could tell, because of the wrong information in both sides (the site and the book). Really man, just do a book! At least we know it was going to be the ultimate book about Queen!! Take care |

Did I miss where it was mentioned that "Greatest Hits" was released in the U.S. mid year after "Classic Queen"? It was a GREAT version of it with the best packaging and write ups yet for it. Later in the year there was also the limited edition box set released called "The Queen Collection" which featured "Classic Queen", "Greatest Hits" (the U.S. Hollywood Records version), "Queen Talks"/"Thank God It's Christmas", and a postcard and paper slip cover for the box set. There was also the limited edition box set from early in the year released in England that I got while there that was awesome as well simply titled "Greatest Hits I & II" which had a really cool green velvet type of flap that went over the discs (in there regular cases) on the inside. |

Although not every TV broadcast is 100% legal and ::maybe:: ORF2 used and broadcasted that tape without any consent from DoRo Prods./Duck Prods. Just guessing, maybe Wilki has better info in that matter.Wilki Amieva wrote: [Anyway, there is a special documentary called BACK TO THE LIGHT LIVE which was directed by DoRo. It included the Imperator Club songs plus some backstage, rehearsal, hotel and travelling stuff (mainly filmed in Buenos Aires - also including some shoots of the audience at Velez!). This was produced for internal use only, not for broadcast. Just for reference, it included a very interesting version of Last Horizon during the end title credits."Back to the light live" was broadcast on ORF2, Austrian state TV in 1993; hence the "internal use only" is not valid |
