Been fiddling with this, and couldn't do anything much in the way of a remix, but here's something for the guitarists to strum along to:- link |

nice, thanks for this |

And that's exactly what I'll do, thanks a lot, but would you please please upload the complete version with the middle part intact? Somehow your version skips a few beats. Please continue the great remixing work! |

I assume you didn't want the 33 seconds of silence at the beginning? :) A nice little challenge for you to keep time during the silent middle section! ;) link |

Woah thanks man! I must get these DVD-A's myself someday. |

The 33 seconds of silence is no problem, I have that part somewhere on my harddisk ;-) |

Thanks for this. This is an excellent way of hearing just how technically proficient a bass player John is. I've often argued that he is often overlooked as a musician. I take it that's an acoustic fretless number? A double, even? Can't be arsed to look it up!! Thanks again. Paul |
Fireplace 01.08.2005 20:21 |
A double, I believe. The fretless was used live. |

Is this allowed to be shared, Since it's a rip of the DVD. Therefor official material, and DVD rip videos aren't also allowed |

FriedChicken
The Almighty wrote: Is this allowed to be shared, Since it's a rip of the DVD. Therefor official material, and DVD rip videos aren't also allowedI think we can relax the 'rules' a bit when it comes to sharing the elements of songs. I mean, if we really got technical about it, even re-edited stuff is still made up of official material. I was actually just thinking this morning that we should have a thread where potential remixers could request certain channels or karaoke mixes they could use. Because I would be happy to rip them now that I have the ability to do it properly. Last year I shared all of the karaoke mixes many times over, some with minor adjustments. Those are offical releases in Japan (and Korea apparently). |
FriedChicken 03.08.2005 14:01 |
okay:) |

Apparently it's OK if you are not reproducing the material in it's original form, and there is no money involved. I think it's a slightly grey area, but no one's doing anybody any harm, and we are not affecting QPL's revenues, as these versions would never have been available to buy anyway. |

So sharing this actually did some good! |

Heh. I dunno, remixing is fair game I reckon, nobody makes any dosh out of it. As for sharing karaoke mixes, I'm always tempted to request things like A Winter's Tale and I Was Born to Love You (which - sucks to be me - weren't on the Karaoke CD I bought). But you know, I don't. It's hardly legal :D |
john bodega 04.08.2005 02:54 |
Edit button ain't working? RIP OFF! Anyway - I'm actually going to hunt down I Was Born to Love You because I have an idea, I want to combine it with an 1986 song. |

Hey Fireplace or Fickle or anyone, I could use some help :) I can't get this ripped either. Had no trouble with 'The Game' but I've tried everything with ANATO and I keep getting 'Cannot read the selected audio stream..' I updated DVD Audio Extractor (new one came out yesterday), that didn't help. Having the disc decrypted and on the HD doesn't help, having the main title alone reauthored, etc... I tried some other program which I quickly got rid of because it didn't even support DTS. I'm just now trying my last idea.. the 'Single DVD Vob File' mode. I've joined the main title vob into one big vob.. Doesn't even open. Oh well. |
Lord Fickle 10.08.2005 18:39 |
Oddly enough, I got the very same error message yesterday, while trying to rip I'm In Love With My Car. I have obviously ripped tracks from ANATO DVD-A before, so there was no reason for this error message, however, I closed DVD Audio Extractor, and re-opened it (with the DVD still in the drive), and it worked fine. Weird, huh? So, there's a new one out, is there? Is it any different to the old one, or merely an update so that the old cracks no longer work? |

I got it to work finally after I noticed Death on Two Legs was reading at 4:41 length. I figured out that there's one minute of silence at the beginning, and that must have been what was confusing the program. So I made a trimmed version with DVD Shrink and then had no problems. I can't see a lot new in this version except some fancier buttons on the final screen, LOL. BTW, be sure and get the local download on their site if you update. The links to Tucows and the other one both had the previous version. This one is 3.3.2 |
Lord Fickle 11.08.2005 04:14 |
I don't tend to update unless there's a good reason - I usually work on the principal, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!". I wanted to upgrade my Sony Soundforge from my current Version 7 to the new Version 8, which does have some significant improvements, i.e. VST support, but it also wants me to download Micro$oft .NET Framework, which tries to take over your computer, and I don't want it, therefore I'm stuck with Version 7. |

I understand completely. The Extractor version that I had up until I started doing this DTS to Dolby conversion stuff was totally free as far as I know.. I had it forever and it never bothered me about registering. I updated to a newer one only because I read somewhere that they'd fixed a problem with the bass channel turning into corrupted junk, which I had encountered a few times myself. Then I only updated again last night because I couldn't get ANATO extracted and thought it might help. I haven't had either of the newer ones for 30 days yet, but I will probably be inclined to actually register it if/when it forces me to. I like the program a lot and it's given me a great opportunity to finally hear these mixes. It's worth the $29 to me :) |
