I got inspiration from the Too Much Love Will Kill You duet, which I like very much, so here it is, I used These Are The Days Of Our Lives from Pesaro 2005 when Roger sang and the studio version mixed together. Enjoy!!! link
At first I thought, 'Oh no, not another live / studio abomination', and as I listened to the first verse, which is a catastrophe, I was beginning to despair, but then those choruses came along, and more than made up for the muddled first verse. The choruses are a very nice mix indeed, and a great idea, although I might have taken just some of the crowd noise out, and the third chorus is slightly out of sinc. A very good attempt. Live / Studio mixes are never easy, which is why I tend to shy away from them, but apart from the points I have already made, this is quite promising.
Well done, and thanks!
The Choruses are pretty neat, but the train wreck that is the beginning few verses simply kills this....that, and the fake audience noise, NEVER a good idea....
Pretty much what the above two zoners said! First verse was pretty shaky. And the cut between the studio mix and the live mix was too obvious, e.g. the sudden rise of drums that were also in full stereo. A way to cover that would be to either convert the track to mono or use something like Cool Edit's center eliminator to highlight the vocal and push the stereo things down in level. The rest afterwards was pretty decent.
Peace,
Adam.
its alright you are getting alot better, i can tell your taking peoples advice. the only thing i would add is i find the crowd noise overpowering.
your best mix so far.
