I think that this problem has been discussed many times. I want to say my opinion that I have not never exposed.
If you have a NON OFFICIAL recording to share, you can ask to the forum if already it has been distributed. If you have a "new entry" is appreciate that you use a lossless format like the FLAC. Once distributed in FLAC there is always time to convert and redistribute in lossy MP3.
Yes i like FLAC! ;)
but it's obvious that you do not have to convert a MP3 in FLAC!
yes, also if i prefer that bootleg with a fair quality can be downloaded in mp3...
flac is better than mp3 in quality, but i don't want download a flac bootleg that has a speed of 3 kb/s...

Yes I love flac, but it takes so much space, so most of my bootlegs are mp3
Flac is great. So what it takes a lot of room... Convert to wave, burn to cd, and then delete from the computer if you need some more space.
Mp3 is OK, but not very versatile.
I prefer mp3. The slightly better quality of FLac on audience recordings is not worth it to me. The conversion from FLAC to WAV to mp3 is a pain in the ass. The longer download times and larger file sizes are negatives for me as well.
And most importantly ... FLAC won't play on my car stereo.
I will only download FLAC when mp3 is not available.
You can convert straight from FLAC to MP3 without the need for the WAV step with the right Nero plugin.
Personally I like FLAC a lot since I can burn straight to CD from it without the gaps that you will get with MP3.
