Tonight NBC TV in the USA has a NEW reality show called "Hit ME One More Time", airing at 9:00 pm EST, where one hit wonder REAL rock bands, play and I think compete for a winner.
Tonight's first show has...our favorite Queen rip off artist, Mr. "Ice Ice Baby" himself, Vanilla Ice,..
...The Knack doing "My Sharona", Tommy Tutone W/ "8675309", and The Motels w/ "Only The Lonely.
I want to watch it. Sounds funny actually. I like The Motels of the roster above for tonight.
Here is the link with promos and lists of upcoming shows & bands. link
I just watched all the evideos on the website.
Vanilla Ice is even LAMER than I remembered...
..and The Motels' "Only The Lonely" is STILL as gorgeous as I remembered. I never understood why they didn't go anywhere after that song. Martha Davis, the lead singer has a stunning voice, and the entire band wrote their own music and play their own instruments.
And their guitarist and saxaphonist were awesome!

Word to your mother.
I despise the guy but I had to agree with the audience - of the acts on last night, he had the consistently better performance. Ice truly was back with a brand new edition. *sigh*
Martha Davis was great too. Everybody else, not so much. Haddaway I could take or leave but The Knack and Tommy Tutone really blew their covers.
In both episodes, the winner has been a faily popular artist from the early-1990s. Also in both episodes, the audience appears to be youthful looking people who were probably youngsters in the early-1990s.
I suspect that the audience, which is responsible for voting for the winner, was not even alive when The Knack or The Motels were popular in the late-70s/early-80s.
Hit Me Baby UK version was shite. I mean Shaking Stevens winning the thing..... come on!!!! He was utter crap. Now Tiffany, she of "I think We're Alone Now" fame should have won. Much better than I thought she'd be. Her and Hue And Cry.
And yes Vernon Kay is cheesy
It is hard to believe that a show so dire it was beaten in the ratings by "Strictly Dance Fever" in the UK was snapped up within weeks by a US television network.
Bizarre, really.
