Well I know that we're on a Queen website and that it may be truly out of subject but I have a question : Do you, any of you, know where I can get bootlegs from The Doors ? You know, not really the old Doors because it always sounded the same, but I'm talking about the new Doors. Concerts from 2003, 2004...Do you know that ? The only connection between The Doors and Queen that I know, is that Robby Krieger played the guitar solo in "We Are The Champions" on the "Dragon Attack : A Tribute To Queen" album so that isn't much ! Lol Anyway, I'd appreciate an answer, if you know, obviously... Dan. |

a gig from 2003 (or 2004) was recently uploaded on easytree but as they seem to have some problems it is at least temporarly not accessible... i managed to dload it but there's no way i could put it anywhere in the internet 'cos my connection is terribly slow... :( ahh and by the way.. i don't know whether you've heard it or not but there's a live dvd out called "l.a.woman live' or sth like that from 2002 or 2003.. worth having definitely :) |
Dany Mercury 06.04.2005 18:26 |

Huh...sorry about that but i think you're stupid. I got hundreds of Doors bootlegs so I don't care no more about them. What I want is the new Doors. Do you get that ? Stupid teenager that you may be, or may have been...:P Don't say things you don't understand, first of all... I didn't mean to offend people, so why are you an asshole tonight ? |

Dont worry, he's always like that. I think I have a few doors bootlegs, mostly the older ones, I think it used to be .CDR.com or type in that at Google CDR+TRADING you'll find some nice sites. |

Well, thank you ! Besides this, do you have MP3s of Astbury singing "The End", "Light My Fire" or "Riders On The Storm" ? I don't know the setlists at all for the new Doors so I don't even know if they perform "Riders On The Storm" but I guess they do. |
wstüssyb 06.04.2005 22:42 |

Besides this, do you have MP3s of Astbury singing "The End"? Didn't find that, but I found a picture of what he is singing about...indeed, this is the end link |
Dany Mercury 07.04.2005 05:52 |
Well, I don't think that's my sense of humour but thank you for trying ! :P |
Bizon 07.04.2005 05:56 |
you won't find astbury singin' the end because they all decided that it was too personal song for jim and they will not play it with ian... but there are 6 songs from the american 2003 tour on ray manzarek's site... link they are only to listen to not to download but you can easily do it with some kind of wave creator or something.... and the setlists for all d21c gigs is also somewhere there... and here is the adress to my friend's site about d21c... she's quite close with the band and spent the whole tour with them backstage... there's also a message board on her site that i'm running but since it's in polish it's no use to you i think... but well.. all the moderators and some users are studying english so you can write anyway... ;) link |

I didn't know they didn't play "The End" because I wasn't a big fan of them until a few days ago. Still, it must be weird to go to a Doors show without hearing "The End" at the end of the concert. Must be like going to a Queen concert with no "We Are The Champions" at the end. I find it so weird when Queen doesn't play "Bohemian Rhapsody" sometimes, like in Amsterdam in 2002 and in Fancourt in 2005. I would give a lot to hear Roger Taylor sing this song. I believe this has never been done, right ? |

I think it is really rare that peopel don't like "Radio Ga Ga" but I guess that happens ! Roger has a great voice. He is nowhere near Freddie Mercury but I think he had a higher voice as shown in "Bohemian Rhapsody" and the galileos. Brian May is great too but I don't know if it's only me but whenever I hear him sing, for exemple on the "Live At The Bowl" DVD, I hardly hear his voice. Roger Taylor, we can hear him pretty well as he has a very powerful voice but Brian, I hardly can hear his voice. For exemple, again, in "Somebody To Love". Every time they sing "Somebody ! Somebody ! Can anybody find me somebody to love ?" I can't hear Brian much. To go back to that discussion, do you people know songs that Roger has sang live on stage that were sung by Freddie usually besides "Break Free", "Under Pressure", "Days Of Our Lives", "Radio Ga Ga"...I have "We Will Rock You" sung by him but it's not complete at all. In his solo tours, did he ever sing another song and do you people, have it ? I'm talking like, an unusual song...He also sang "Tenement Funster" but that comes as no surprise since he wrote the song. "Bohemian Rhapsody" or "We Are The Champions" would surprise me. Maybe a Brian May song ? Did he ever do that ? Did Roger Taylor ever sing "No One But You" in his solo tours ? Without Brian ? I saw a discussion about songs Brian sings on stage that were sung by Freddie but I'm not quite sure if a Roger Taylor discussion like this exists. Sorry if that is the case. I hope someone can answer those questions... |

I appreciate Cédric's link. Thanks. Maybe I'll learn a few things about what was released from The Doors and The Doors Of The 21st Century. |

Why do all great bands of the old days lose important members like Freddie Mercury, Jim Morrison, John Lennon etc. ? |
Dany Mercury 20.04.2005 17:48 |
Well, I don't think they're more important as Mercury wasn't more important than May I think for exemple. He was just "over-the-top" and that's why we look at him more. And if bands lose their most well-known members, it is because they are "over-the-top" performers. The Doors) Morrison drank and took too many drugs. Real often, he came to the studio really stoned and could barely sing. I think that "The Soft Parade" song was mixed from all the recordings where we can actually hear him sing good. AC/DC) Bon Scott drank way too much. Did drugs too. Queen) His sexual behavior gave him AIDS and he didn't seem to care. He did everything, with everybody and he simply didn't care. I wonder if he had any regrets that he caught AIDS. Mabe he just told himself that it was a good way to end his life. Not too old to lose everything he had, and not to young not to have done what he did for rock and roll. Band Of Gypsys) Jimi Hendrix was a heavy drinker and he did drugs that could have killed him. And besides that, Hendrix was becoming more "bluesy", so the dugs, and the alcohol, to me, nearly killed his rock and roll feel. Dennis Wilson) The Beach Boys drummer drowned in the Pacific Ocean in 1983. He was drunk. He drank all his life. He had so much trouble that he drowned in alcohol before drowning for real, that time, in the Ocean. Maybe not the most important member, but he was the only true surfer in the band. Most of their songs from the early 60's were about that and that was because of Dennis. Rolling Stones) Brian Jones. Dead in 1969. Drowned. Drunk and stoned. He had left the Stones just prior to that but the lifestyle of the Stones was still there. He paid for it. Jagger and Richards could have paid too, but were lucky. Janis Joplin) Just like Hendrix, but worse. She was one of the greatest singers. Not that she had a voice like, let's say Whitney Houston or Célien Dion, but a voice of her own, like if she was giving her soul to us every single night. In the end, she really gave her soul... Elvis Presley) Drugs, ordered by his doctor, mr. Nichopoulos, killed him. He took weight, a lot of weight...By the time of his death, Elvis was 250 pounds (approx)...The King, who in 1958 in the Army, weighted 180 pounds, seemed like a bad imitation of himself...In a lot of people's minds, they prefer to forget the Elvis of the 70's, except for that brilliant performance in Hawaii in January of 1973. People, Elvis fans, want to remember Elvis as he was in 1956 or in 1968, when he hit the stage for the first time in about 10 years. Drugs killed him. He made a heart attack in his bathroom on August 16, 1977 and he was really sick at that moment. A divorce and everything may have also killed him, but when you take pills to sleep, to wake up, to eat, not to eat, to have energy...etc...one day, you have to pay. And he did it his way... There are plenty more... They are "over-the-top" so that's why that happens. They do too much to please their fans, or themselves. Hope my view is a good one. Dan. PS : For Lennon, that's a different thing. He wasn't with The Beatles anymore. 10 years on his own with Yoko. But he was shot. Shot because (as I've seen in the documentary) he said, in "Imagine", "Imagine There's No Heaven" and "No Religion Too". Mark Chapman was a really religious man at that time and because Lennon was his idol, he just thought he had been betrayed. It took him nearly 10 years to kill him because the situations weren't good for it to happen. One day, he made the trip to New York, asked for an autograph because he was still a fan, and killed him later in the day. That happens. Sick people. Sam Cooke, The Notorious B.I.G too...many many people. They even tried to kill the Pope in 1982. Why ? Just because he wasn't like everybody. Lennon was "over-the-top", yes, but that didn't kill him. Maybe he was also |
