I'm not gonna check all your list, because I don't know more than 75% of those names, but please rename your topic - 'Queen' is not very good title on Queen's forum. |

Well they are all good bands (iv heard most of em) but none will be as good as Queen, the only and only! |
eggy 08.03.2005 18:12 |
Most of them aren't even in the same genre as Queen, and indie music hasn't the same lifespan as rock. On a plus point my Kaiser Chiefs album came signed from amazon which was cool. |
gmhmagic 08.03.2005 21:30 |
I can´t believe that you forgot aboutThe Beatles... Queen and The Beatles are the two Most important and best bands ever... In my opinion, Queen is much better... but c´mon you can´t forget to include fabs four in your list! |

There are nay-sayers..but The Beatles are the bestest. Even better than Trogdor! |

Bah, Mc Fly? In Queens League? Meh i suppose opinions are opinions. |

what annoys me nowadays about the music business is that, like a lot of the bands in your list, they have all appeared around the same few months, and are all so similar, yet everyone loves them? i don't understand it? theres nothing new? for example, the Kaiser Chiefs are merely Franz Ferdinand repackaged. very similar look, too smiliar a sound... its boring. There are too few avts around now with any reall talent. to be honest, with that huge list you gave us, only a few on the newer bands i really rate. Maroon 5, i think, are a breath of fresh air, much like the Scissor Sisters. its just that little bit different enough. to me, the Foo Fighters are one the best rock bands around. they are one of the few acts who keep it going, and enjoy doing it, like the old days. same goes for Queens Of The Stone Age in my mind, even though Josh Homme went mad and fired the band. but, for me, its all about Muse. absolute, sheer class. |
GreatKingSam 10.03.2005 07:21 |
and dont shoot me.... but I like Electric Six and The Darkness |

90% of the bands Fraz mentioned would'nt be fit to touch Freddie's garments absolute bollox. If their is such a thing as a band as good as or better than Queen it certainly is not the Beatles. Pink Floyd to me can only match Queen's creativity and uniqueness in their sound. So Fraz dont be putting up a l;ist of over 100 shit bands just cause you have nothing to do go and do it on McFly's website you gobshite |

Fraz wrote: Do You think theres anyone new or old out there that could be as good as queen?Yes in my opinion. There are many old bands, but I will focus on "new" ones. First, there are Muse. They are specific and I really find their sound refreshing. Then, you have "Queen copy" in The Darkness. They had only one album so far (working on new one as we speak with Roy Thomas Baker), but they are very Queenish. We had two names like Scissor Sisters and Franz Ferdinand coming out in last year or so and we will just have to see what they will do. These two are not very near Queen sound perhaps, but they had quality present on their first albums. From that point of view Zuttons are not bad either. |

Out of the bands ive seen on that list. Razorlight, muse, RHCP, Oasis and Feeder all put on good shows but none that extra buzz that comes from queen. Whom i have never seen in person but the DVD'S convey the atmosphere pretty well. |
k01olnug 28.03.2005 17:07 |
the best would be muse there so original. check out sing for absolution its a great album. Also razorlight have the potential to do well but if they will stay around who knows. |

In my opinion....NO...none as good as Queen. There might be really small bands out there, who hardly anyone hears of, and who will never enjoy success on the scale that Queen did, but might technically be "as good" in many aspects. But I certainly think none of those bands in that list (tho the Beatles deserve one HUGE mention...they are the only ones who can prolly claim to be as good) begin to even approach Queen. And back to the point of small obscure bands...u prolly mean rock bands? Or popular mainstream stuff anyway. Because, no doubt, there are certainly bands out there in their specific genres who are as good a whatever band as queen were a rock/etc. band. But at the end of the day, that doesn't count, and NO...Queen certainly remain the best |
*3*Playful as a pussycat 29.03.2005 09:14 |
.......ummm...no...but what fall close behind are Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Police, and David Bowie ^.^ |
The Real Wizard 30.03.2005 10:32 |
If you're talking about influence, Queen comes nowhere near Zeppelin. Led Zeppelin influenced entire generations of rock music. You can't say the same for Queen. |

If you're talking influence, then the Jimi Hendrix Experience. But it's not about influence here... |

i just wanna put in my thoughts on mcfly. i saw one or two of you slagging them off. i have to say that i think they are actually pretty good. now don't have a go at me, i'm allowed my own oppinion, especially as it comes backed with some ideas behind it. when i heard that song that they did for comic relief recently i was astounded. the song was very good. the structure was good, the hooks catchy, and their harmonies live (yes they do perform live) were brilliant. i have to say it reminds me very much of the 1960's. the beach boys. and i will actually go as far as saying that i think that if it was released back then by the beach boys, ok ,with maybe some fuller instrumentation, a la brian wilson, then it might actually be considered by some more of you as a great and classic song. i have to say, that i'm not sure that some of you are really listening to the songs so much, rather, looking at the boys who wrote it, and thinking before they've strummed one note that you won't like it. because you're a die hard music fan and this can't be cool. tell me, is that fair? |
