Mr.Jingles 07.03.2005 08:21 |
I don't know what is it about Elton lately that he does nothing but blast projects and criticize his very own friends. First it was Madonna, then George Michael, and now Rod Stewart and Queen. |
Krizzy 07.03.2005 09:25 |
Elton seems to be punching his fist at all the wrong people. He seems to be turning into a curmudgeon. |

He is turning to an old fart. He is always in a pissy mood for some reason. |

Then he realizes later that he souldn't have said what he said. That was the case about the Madonna thing. |

It's showbiz thing. Nothing personal, just business. Besides, what he have said many will find as correct thing (fans won't of course). |

ooo im so maad i cant see straight how dare this fat ugly bastard criticize something as pure and perfect and good and magical as the brilliant breathtaking cumspunking wwry musical omg omg omg i cannot believe it ooooo i am shaking with anger that musical is so great omg omg anyone disagreeing has to be castrated right now oooo the anger that boils inside of meee Hopefully someone got the point. I'm glad there are still people who speak their mind, our dear own Brian May does that too, in his soapbox where he whinges about EVERYTHING under the sun. From fans to journalists. Of course since nobody in the mainstream media cares about his old hasbeen-ass (unlike Elton who is still a successful active musician ), there's no fuss. |
Benn 08.03.2005 05:58 |
Can't you see that Elton's just trying to promote HIS musical? If Elton doesn't like it, thats just fine - I don't like it either, in fact, I hate the fucking thing - I spent the worst couple of hours of my life at The Dominion watching a story and listening to a script that has been done in slightly different ways for about 30 years. But why get so uptight about it - it's only entertainment after all. "It's only a bloody record, people get so excited about these things" - FM 1982. |
gmhmagic 08.03.2005 08:41 |
C´mon guys! I think Elton just said it ocassionally... He also said that Queen were the most important artists in Rock ´n Roll history... nobody remarked that... His one of the greatest British artists... but Queen is so much better!! ;) |
forever 08.03.2005 09:30 |
As I have not been to the musical don't take what I say to seriously, but I have seen little bits on the TV and on DVD's I have bought, and I have to say that if you had to take thoses Queen songs away then the show probably would be rubbish! But as I haven't heard or read any diologe then I can't truley say. But put it this way, if you got some figure skaters or ballet dancers to improvise to Queen music, then that would be a success as well because of the music!!! |
Stryder 08.03.2005 09:46 |
elton who? seriuosly... |
LittQueenie 08.03.2005 09:59 |
What a bitter little bitch!!!! He's been cutting everyone down lately....what's his problem? Getting old and fat isn't an excuse to be so crappy to WWRY.....doesn't he have a play coming out? I hope his stupid play gets lousy reviews and no one cuts him any slack. I believe he really hurt Brian's feelings....read his Soapbox. Maybe Elton should get his nose out of the Beckhams' ass (he is godfather to one of those kids, I think)and concentrate on what he does best - nothing. |
LittQueenie 08.03.2005 10:02 |
Serry Funster wrote: I just think that we don't have to pay so much attention to what Elton or someone like Nikki Sixx have said about Queen. What does it change? Sebastian 08.03.2005 10:13 |
I don't think "crappy remarks" is fair. If he doesn't like the musical, then he can say anything about it. For me, the most stupid thing is how Brian defends it based on how many people have seen it. So, based on that, is Queen II bloody crap just because they couldn't make thousands of people make a standing ovation every night when playing it? are Jamie Moses and Treana Morris useless musicians because they haven't got as much success as, say, Nsync? Well, maybe that explains the fact Brian now instead of working with Steve Howe or Eric Tomlinson, puts the crappy band they now name "Queen" collaborating with Robbie Williams, Five, Beyonce and so on. Paul Rodgers is an exception, since he's not a one-day-star, he's famous but he earned it through years of very hard work and though his amazing musicality. But who knows... maybe after working with him we'll get the new tour Queen + Usher, of course (who can doubt it!) with Nelly as special vip guest. And whoever (respectfully or not) dares to say it's not the best thing ever will appear insulted and belittled all over Brian's Whine Shrine (aka Soapbox). |
LittQueenie 08.03.2005 10:18 |
Now I have to agree with you as far as the collaborations of "Queen" and some of those idiots, namely that PATHETIC Brittany Spears and Pink in that Pepsi debacle - that made me literally sick. The way those spoiled brats acted at the premiere of that commercial in London was horrible - have some respect little girls, and realize who is standing behind you - living legends named Brian May and Roger Taylor. |
Benn 08.03.2005 11:37 |
Why would they give a toss who Brian or Roger are anyhow - their music is COMPLETELY removed from their's and have a completely different target audience. It's simply the fact that WWRY is a "famous" song that they had any involvement with each other. To be fair, they have probably forgotten that the Ad even existed by now. |
Q2005 08.03.2005 11:58 |
As Freddie would say "you fagot" Elton always reminds me of a child in a candy store that wants something and can't get it. Do you think the drama Queen is jealous? I've always though it was a slap in the face that Elton got to sing Bo-Rap at Freddies Tribute concert. Maybe Elton's attitude is why Freddie and Elton relationship cooled almost to the end of Freddie's life! |
LittQueenie 08.03.2005 12:57 |

Mr.Jingles 08.03.2005 13:32 |
I certainly don't understand what people have against Brian. I mean, many people here complain about Brian's whinning, but they whine even more than Brian does. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about the collaborations with 5ive, Robbie Williams, Britney, Beyonce, and Pink sure weren't great points in Queen's career to some but they were just one time moments that are long gone. They're already part of the past and people seem to keep bitching about them. Don't you think it's time to get over it? As far as the musical goes, I can't tell you whether it's good or bad because I haven't seen it, but as far as I'm concerned no one is being forced to see it. Personally I'm not very interested, because from what I see going on with the plot it seems like a lame storyline with possibly well arranged Queen songs. Yet Brian and Roger are entitled to do whatever they want. Queen is more their band than ours, and that's the problem with many music fans. Remember those stupid Metallica fans who made a fuss when they cut their hair short, well seems to me that Queen also has it's share of that kind of "fans". |

Elton is spot on. And once again Brian May proves that he is completely unable to handle critique and instead tries to act as if Elton didn't really mean what he said. Why should he not be serious? WWRY may have something good in it (maybe... I haven't seen it - "not in a million years" is also my attitude), but it is blindingly obvious that it is totally, absolutely 100% UNCREATIVE, like Elton said, and I really don't get how it is possible to say it's not. |

It's one thing to have an opinion. It's another to insult your friends in such an untactful (and very public) way - multiple times. He thinks the musical is "uncreative"? Let's have him create some lyrics! I wonder what he thinks of his pal Billy's musical? Billy DESTROYED Elton in every F2F show I've seen. Elton is a bully - plain and simple. He must pull people down to make himself look/feel better. |

Freddie was right to keep his distance from this backstabbing bastard in his last years. I'm American but I can't see what anybody ever saw in this half rate bald headed stupid fucker......Sorry to be so explesive but Mr Elton don't need to be coming down on my boys like that!!! Peace to you all........ |

Oh my sides are hurting from all the irony. See, whenever Queen is compared or someone says something even mildly critical about them, we have a ton of stepfords screaming their lungs out. Now in this topic people label Elton John as a bully who HAS to put people down to feel better about himself, yet the same people in their posts resort to the same tactics of questioning his talent, appearance and ability as a musician etc etc. With such schoolyard comments as fat, bald and so on. Who's the bully now then? You do the same yourself afterall. So basicly you guys don't seem to be any better, so it would be wise to ride a pony instead of that wooden high-horse. Infact it's always the case with these stepford-fans vs people who are even mildly critical of Queen products. They have to resort to ridicule and question the intelligence etc. of those who dare to disagree with them. Holier than thou? |
Mr.Jingles 09.03.2005 19:48 |
I wonder how Elton John would feel if any of his rock star friends told the press that "Peachtree Road" sucked. They have as many reasons, and perhaps even more than Elton did when he decided to blast their work. I truly admire Elton for all his work, but lately when his very own talent is in discussion it shouldn't be the right time to crticize others. |

I'm curious what would happened if John Deacon would criticize musical - would some of Queen fans call him an old bald stupid fool or not?! |
isolar2 10.03.2005 09:00 |
The whole problem with this "story"... did Elton indeed say this? We all know how reliable certain newspapers/magazines are. If Elton indeed said this, I would not take it too seriously. He did not attend the musical so far, how can someone have an opinion on something he/she never experienced him/herself? And having some experience with interviews myself: I know how easy reporters "rewrite" certain statements. If Elton told the press he would not want his musical to be in WWRY-style the press will certainly change this remark into something like "Elton John dislikes the WWRY musical/Elton John thinks the WWRY musical is rubbish" or something similar. To those who do not have any respect for Elton John... unbelievable. This person is responsible for some of the best music ever made, especially his Goodbye Yellow Brick Road-era. Elton John certainly deserves a lot more respect from some of you, even if you don't like his music. |
Gunpowder Gelatine 10.03.2005 18:47 |
I like Elton and I think he's talented, but he just needed to phrase his dislike for the musical more tactfully. If he hates it, fine, but there's got to be a better way to go about expressing that than to publically cut down your colleagues (and friends). |
