.....and why would she?
I would think that Rock guitarists are the least of her interests. You can bet your life that there will be people under the impression that because Brian played on the roof of "Buck House", she would know him though......
I dissagree with monarchy. The royal family think their supierier just because they wear an ugly lump of metal on their heads. AND before you start choking me to death remember it's just a matter of OPINION.
Sorry, has the irony gone straight over my head, or was the original post asking about 'The Royal Family', the band of fans so christened by Freddie in the '70's because they followed the band everywhere on tour.
That's what I thought the poster was on about, and I looked forward to some replies from members of the original royal family.
Confused from Dorset.
What evidence do you have that the Royal family believe themselves to be superior?
Crowns (presumably the lumps of metal you refer to) are only worn at state occasions, so how will that have ANYTHING to do with their perception of themselves or anyone else?
The Royal family perform a number of functions:
1 - They act as a focal point for the public, something that they can look at as being representative of the nation in the faces of other nations.
2 - They are a wonderful draw for tourists and therefore generate a vast amount of money to the treasury in terms of visits to the various palaces, stately homes and royal parks and gardens.
3 - They act as figureheads for vast numbers of different charities who, without their backing and patronage may not otherwise get the recognition and exposure that they do.
4 - They are a constant reminder of the long and distinguished history of England that other nations can only dream of having.
Unarguably, they do not necessarily always conduct themselves with the greatest of dignity (Prince Harry as a Nazi, Princess Diana fucking Eric Clapton, Will Carling, Dodi, James et al, Charles fucking Camilla, Edward being a poof, the ginger one having her toes sucked etc), but then that has been the way of Royalty for centuries and is almost accepted as being a part of the job.
Personally, I think it's a wonderful institution and to not have it would be to lose a unique part of England.

Bollocks, they're a bunch of scroungers who get paid God Knows how much taxpayers' money to do a few meet and greets, get flown around the world first class and then expect us all to kiss their arses!
Sell their palaces, give them a council house and tell them to get a proper job!
PS John Deacon for Britain's first democratically elected president!
