I recently read an interview in the latest issue of the "Adovcate". Tori Amos was asked "What gay icons living or dead would you love to duet with" and first on her list was Freddie Mercury followed by Marlene Dietrich, and Boy George. Anyway, what do you think about that? Although Tori and Freddie both write/wrote many piano based songs, Do you think Tori Amos' and Freddie Mercury's voices would sound good together? I'm kinda divided on this, but It would be nice if Tori would cover a Queen song to give me an idea "what if"
It can't be as bad as the pairing of her with Robert Plant covering Zep's Down By The Seaside on the tribute album Enconium (sp). Actually, I'd love to hear Tori cover Queen's music.
For those that don't know, Tori Amos is a feminist singer/songwriter. She's been around for a good 10 years now and her music is mostly piano based. Definitely some powerful stuff, but Hard to compare to Freddie's abilities, hence the question.

there both amazing, it's good to here tori has good taste in singers, didn't know she was a fan. i think they would have made a great duet. by the way tori has a new CD out, it sounds pretty good.
I love Tori Amos she is my favourite female vocalist i love her album of cover versions she brought out a few years ago called Strange little girls she covered a wide variety of tracks like Eminems song Bonnie and Clyde,I dont like mondays by the Boomtown rats, Neil Young's heart of gold and Lennon/McCartneys happiness is a warm gun to name but a few She's not afraid to try something different and i love that she's so quirky. I remember reading before that she loved Queen and i think her and freddie's voices would've sounded amazing together. Cant wait to get her new album as she duets/works with Damien Rice another great singer and Irish too....xx Check out her website it's so beautifully put together link.
I just bought the new Tori Amos CD and it has been in heavy rotation in my car's CD player along with Queen's "A Day At the Races". Anyway, I highly reccomend Tori's New CD and who knows maybe she'll do a Queen Cover on a future album? Does anybody have any suggestions as to what Queen song she should cover or should that be a new post on this message board? LOL
