In..say 30 yrs when they Brian and roger eventually fade out.. how will it change the way we talk and think about them.. when there utterly will be no more semi-queen new material.. and all the vaults of unreleases are emptied..
The music is there, but the masters are gone.. we'll still keep on listening and watching them just like the generations after us.. I know it will settle many disagreements we have now of their post-freddie career.. it will simplify the queen experience.. the music will once again gain its supreme meaning instead of naive secondary judging about their personal choises for what they did during the queen era and the post queen era.
Maybe someday one of our current planets will be renamed after Queen just like planet mercury was named after freddie long time before his time by some wise sage who had foreseen it century ago :D
So the point of this topic in the topic :D
I will cry bitterly. but then I'll move on I suppose.

I think they will be one of the bands that everyone will remember. The music will not die after their death. I think their fame will be bigger and bigger by the years. But we'll see in about 30 years :P
I've often wondered this. It makes me think what will happen when Paul and Ringo die and Beatles fans scream. Same with The Who..they were doing fine until Ox died.
But in answer to your question, who knows? I'll be glad to die, slowly listening to Queen.
You guys ever notice something... when you die, you become a legend!
Freddie Mercury will be a name that utters the lips of many generation of singers, musicians, and music lover for the next 500 years.
Freddie didn't look like anyone else, he didn't sound like anyone else, no one had his stage presence, and maybe 1 professional singer in 10,000 had his vocal range.
.....Combine this with infamous parties, and money spent like water, and buying his friends $100,000 cars, and flying 60 people across the world just for 1 party....
Then his world changed.
He was ill with one of the most serious, and unstoppable illnesses the world has ever known.
..And he kept right on working, and many critics have hailed the last album he released while living "Innuendo" his finest work.
But did he die at 77, or 83 of natural causes.
You guys know this answer.
He died at a too young 45, of what?....oh yeah, he was the first major rock star to die of the feared AIDS disease.
On top of everything he did while living to create the legend of Freddie Mercury, he died young of a disease that is really, considered a new illness.... but one of the most deadly.
When you are as talented as Freddie, you'll always be remembered ....but when you are unique, and different...then die young of something as serious as AIDS.
Freddie will be a legend forever.
In 30 years, assuming and hoping that John, Brian, and Roger all live long active lives well into their 80's or beyond, my prediction is that when younger generations get a hold of the Queen story....there's a real good chance that Brian, John, and Roger may just seem like Freddie's backing band.
Now, we all know here that Queen were four key members together.
But guitar students I have, who are 14 years old right now will say...
"Scott, will teach me something by Freddie Mercury and Queen."
I hear this alot.
With the rest of the band, and alone...Freddie is a legend from about ten different angles.
Queen have inspired so many people with their music, and it has touched so many generations (my Gran loves them) that I think that quite a lot of it has a timeless quality. They'll be controversial still when people stop asking 'Beatles or Stones'.
Queen should be taught in music lessons at school
Especially my school Denes High
A lot of people piss me off saying that that Queen are shit Well I have words for people who think Queen are shit Up Your Arse!
Queen is the best band ever
Bohemian Rhapsody is the best song ever
Freddie Mercury is the best singer ever
And even Chris Evans says Queen are the greatest band of all time I salute you Mr. Ginger!
