Which do you think are the songs he would play?
I mean we should know his best songs a little, it would be strange if everyone sings the Queen songs and noone knows his material...
Yeah i Agree
i have plenty of queen songs to choose i can name it here but er...... no it be loads there lol oh pauls songs erm...... sorry i dont know any at all in fact i have never heard of him but will see the show in wembley on May
so hopefully it be a rocking good show
Yes, he did both.
I'd love to hear Shooting Star! Such a great, beautiful song and I'm sure it would fit Brian and Roger's playing as well as the atmosphere of the concerts (well, that's if the atmosphere is as I hope it will be... ;-)
There is an extensive Paul Rodgers catalogue on link.
Here's what I think he'll play-
Alright Now (Encore)
Can't Get Enough of Your Love (2nd or 3rd Song)
Rock'n'Roll Fantasy
Feel Like Makin'Love
Fire And Water
Possibly A Jimi Hendrix Cover (Hey Joe/Purple Haze/Stone Me)
No songs from The Firm but he might share vocals on Led Zep's Rock'n'Roll with Roger.
These songs will fit very well with Brian & Roger. They're all great songs. I've had the privilege of seeing him in Cardiff twice. He will bring his great distinctive style to the Queen songs. They have an abundance of riches so they'll be spoilt for choice!!
Brian May: I can't wait! I have to tell you, the thing I am most excited about is playing his stuff really. You know, I want to play "Alright Now", I want to play "Can't Get Enough of your Love", I want to play "Feel Like Making Love", "Little Bit of Love". It's all about love isn't it! So why not, it's going to be great!
I'd love to see them do My Brother Jake - my favourite Free song. I don't hold out much hope though (not "rocky" enough)!
I would think they'll do Wishing Well, Feel Like Making Love, All Right Now, but I'm not that knowlegable about Paul Rodgers (I have the Free Story CD, Free Live on vinyl but nothing by Bad Company or anyone else - must rectify that before May).
Cheers,
Andrew
Good constructive thread. It's nice to discuss Paul Rodgers'part in all this instead of getting into a frenzy about tickets, codes, venues, bitching, disrespectful comments etc. Many people IMHO who are.......
just plain ignorant/never heard of Paul Rodgers/only interested in Queen songs don't care much for Paul Rodgers....are missing the whole point of this tour.
This is 1/2 QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS not Queen with the original line-up!! There is going to be Paul Rodgers material on this tour so ACCEPT IT however much it may piss Queen fans off!! Also, it will appeal to a more possibly mature audience but many younger fans will come and have a ball!
Freddie idolised Paul Rodgers - he is known as the "Voice" and has inspired many singers since the early 70's. As you know, he'll never replace Freddie, has not joined Queen and is as such a guest vocalist performing his songs as well as Queen's!! Anyone who is expecting a Queen only set should stay at home and get out their CD's. I've heard that there could be a 1/3 Rodgers
2/3 Queen set list. That narrows the Queen songs down to about 15 - 20 maximum if they play a two hour set (they usually play around 110 minutes) but who the hell knows!!
I wanted to get this off my chest. It's been buggin' me.......oh the relief!!
We can only keep guessing and speculating.....that's what makes it exciting!!!!!
