Dear all,
please let me tell you some of my thoughts about the 2005 Queen Tour. So, how should it be a perfect gig??? (of course from my point of view!)
- John Deacon must play bass. I would also add Spike on keyboards but PLEASE: no WWRY cast, no extra drummers, no extra guitarrists...
- Rodgers can sing, that's Ok. But they should not sing any Free or BC song: if they do 50% not Queen the concert will result a strange mixture (and consequently note that the Queen set list will be dramatically shortened!)
- The "classical Queen" set should be avoided as much as possible. For instance, I would avoid the typical Magic, Vision, Rock you, Champions, Gaga, Break Free... For instance, the fast WWRY could be a nice anthem to be played, as well as I want it all, Days of our lives, ...
- If BoRap is to be played (it should), there should be, during the opera part, some shoots of Freddie on a big screen.
Well... that's all. Comments are welcome!

That won't happen, and frankly I'm glad about that; Allright Now in the Queen version was great .. and Free and BC have more great songs. I would love to hear Shooting Star with Bri and Roger on the higher backing vocals ..And Wishing Well and Bad Company are awesome songs too! The mixture of these two styles - Queen and Paul Rodgers - could be very interesting.
When you think that it will be a completely 100% Queen setlist .. than you've really missed the point of this whole tour..

That won't happen. I've read some posts about 'wishlists' with Milionaire Waltz etc .. that just WON'T happen. They'll play the world-wide hits and a couple of new songs of the 2005 studio album.
But you're right about IWIA :D .. but well .. we'll see

It'll be the video clip I guess

It would be absolutely brilliant if John were to play but if he dosn't try to accept it. It will still be good with out him i surpose. All i care about at the moment is trying to get the tickets for next year.

No fucking back-up singers. Not even Maggie, Miriam, whats-his-name and the Vienna Boys Choir.

Bo.Rap. is one of the ingredients of a Queen concert :S
Together with WWRY and WATC, Now I'm Here and Tie Your Mother Down, it is performed at every concert since it came out at CD ..
oké .. Love of My Life and Crazy Little Thing are also 2 consequent Queen-concert elements .. but they are too Freddie-ish ..
But I'm counting on it that they'll play Bo.Rap., WWRY, WATC, TYMD and Now I'm Here next year!
It would be brilliant if John came out of retirement, just fantastic. One person I wouldn't want is Spike, in my opinion he acted as if he was the unofficial 5th member of Queen. Wouldn't it be nice instead if there where no synthesizers at Remember in the early days there would always be the comment 'And nobody played synthesizer' on the sleeve notes? As for songs, how about dusting down Liar and Ogre Battle, now that would definitely make my day if they played them!
Hi you dont know me , my name is natalie and i hope you could help me with something .
I dont know who to get the ticits to the tour and i dont know if they sold out
so if you could help me it will be great
Thanks
Natalie
hey nat. the uk dates are all sold out but check out ebay for tickets but you may have to pay around £100 for a ticket!
Regaring the tour im expecting it to go like this: Queen, Free, Bad Company and keep rotating the songs like that. But i do expect to see stuff like radio gaga, a kind of magic and one vision as these are the most familiar songs people will want to hear and i do expect a 2 hr set list not 1 hr 30 mins like most bands!
I would like to hear songs they rarely played on tour ....
WWRY
WATC
RGG
LOML ;)
Actually
You Take My Breath Away
Some from Miracle and Innuendo
I would imagine No One But You will definately be played.
John on Bass would be out of this world, and also Freddie on video doing the choral parts on Bo Rap.
Some people do not seem to be getting the message. This is NOT a Queen tour (also see the new article from the Guardian on Brians site). It will be something great and special, a one off featuring three of the greatest rock musicians of all time. It can't be Queen without Freddie, pure and simple. What made a Queen show so special, what lifted it above being merely great to out of this world, the best live band of all time and completly untouchable was Freddie. His total command of the audience, his complete showmanship and professionalism will never be equalled. I will never forget the way he made me feel in those concerts, like part of the show not merely a spectator. That is why this show should not be viewed as Queen. It will no doubt be brillant and I look forward to seeing Brian and Roger perform together again. It will sadly be the nearest some of you will yet to seeing Queen. That's the way it goes.I would have loved to see Led Zep, my second fav band after Queen but was only 10 the last time they played. The nearest I got was seeing Page and Plant in 1995. Brilliant concert but not Zep. Interestingly, they didn't bill themselves as Led Zeppelin and I don't think Brian and Roger should bill themselves as Queen(I know many of you disagree with me on that). Better not get me started on that old arguement...... Hope you all enjoy the shows. They will be fantastic.
