Everyone has been bitching about how much Paul Sucks and he does but did anyone look at QUEEN not Paul Fuckin Rodgers If you look at Roger he has gain alot of weight and Brian has gain too and if Paul were to teaming up with Queen It wont matter sadly they will never be as good as they were for one they lost half of Queen I am as much of a Queen fan as the next guy but it true They got old. Fred is Dead :( John is Retired, Brian is always bitchin and Roger well he is just following Brian. If Brian and Roger just would just play thier songs and not give them to FUCKING others like Electric 6 and Brittany Spears they would be alright
Leave QUEEEN (Thats what Bri n Rog are in a sense) well alone. They have the right to earn a living just like anyone. You wouldn't have a go at a Bus Driver from driving a bus? So don't begrudge entertainers for entertaining. Compelations: They're good. They keep Queen in peoples faces which was exactly were they were in the past. So people who don't buy the albumns compelations like "Queen Rocks" are good because it brings albumn only (not relased as a single) material such as "Sheer Heart Attack" to new people.

no you weren't referring to Brian - you were referring to people on here - looks obvious to me
on the subject of royalties - it's automatic - you cover a song by def leppard - the record industry deducts royalties from YOUR sdales and redirects it to the original artist/writer
I've seen several posts that mention Brian and Roger having gained weight and "looking old." They're nearly 60 years old. People get old and fat. You think they'd be playing any better if they dropped a few pounds? No.

a) Artists tend to feel honoured when someone covers their stuff, rather than sueing the people who pay tribute to them.
b) Royalties are collected and paid automatically by organizations such as GEMA and BMI.

do they get royalties if they steal the song music like vanilla ice
Vanilla Ice was different. It was a demo of the bass line + piano. You don't have to pay for that but if you don't get permission then you could get sued.
Of course you have to pay royalties when you sample someone else's stuff. BRJF&Bowie actually did get a co-writing credit (= $$$).
If someone doesn't only cover a song, but also uses samples from the original recording he additionally has to ask for permission from the song's copyright holders and it's usually more expensive.
i'll say what i always said
queen is fred bri rog & john
no one could replace freddie, he is one of those person who cant be replaced
for what i saw, paul rodgers has a great voice, but the comparison with freddie is unavoidable
i'm used to hear freddie in queen songs, so it will sound very different with paul rodgers
i could say that the songs will lost their soul without freddie
but bri & rog are free to do what they want with their life and their career, so if they want to make a new band with new people, go ahead
the only thing i ask them is respect
and remember just one thing: freddie is watching you from above jajaja
All this nonsense about how "bad" Brian and Roger look - I wish it would just stop.
Considering some of the other stars out there who aren't as young as they used to be...Bri and Rog look **fa-bu-lous** compared to these folks that I happened to see on TV over the weekend:
Rick Springfield (egad - looks like death warmed over)
Kate Jackson (she really ain't one of Charlie's Angels anymore)
Jon Voigt (probably spelled his name wrong....but he was ugly when he was young, too)
Kate Pearson from the B-52's (man - who beat her with an ugly stick?!? Talk about FAT and OLD...)
As for "our boys", Roger still looks good.
And Brian - I'd take him any time, any place, anywhere (whew - is it getting hot in here or is it just me....) - he still has the best hair and the most gorgeous eyes that I've ever seen. (Still has a nice ass, too.) (Hey - if Anita ever gets tired of him...I'd love to take GOOD care of him...)
I just got to watch the UK HoF performances. Thanks Rein!! I have to say, I have no complaints! Paul isn't Freddie. But then again, Freddie isn't Paul. I enjoyed his singing of WWRY/WATC. It was his own style. Trying to come on stage and reprouduce Freddie's style is all but impossible. And how about Brian & Roger playing on Alright Now, I'm sure there are Free/Bad Company fans saying how they sucked! Personally, I love when Queen or Brian & Roger cover other artists songs. My personal highlight from the Tribute concert is when they play All the Young Dudes & Hero. But if and this is a big IF they do fnally decide to do some touring I will have no problem w/ Paul Rodgers doing the lead voclas. My only issue is when it comes time to play Bo Rhap. Paul can certainly play the piano part effortlessly. But I really don't want him or anyone singing it except the audience. Back when Jimmy Page did his solo tour in 88 he closed th show w/ Stairway. It was performed as an instrumental, only the audience did the singing. It was awsome! Hopefully Brian & Roger would do the same.
