I love the song "Nevermore" on QueenII. And I was wondering if there was any metaphor to "the path of nevermore". and the bit where it says "I have nothing to grow etc."
I find it really so sad :(! But i still opve it, I also like The March of the Black Queen v. much!!!
When someone askes me which is my fav. Queensong, I always answer "Nevermore".
In fact there is not one fav. song cause it depends on my mood and emotional feelings.
Lyrically it's one of the best and Freddie's voice sounds great on that track...
Another one is Lilly of the Valley from the SHA album.
you should hear the bbc version - just shows how well he could've sung it live
i don't think there's any metaphors (or fives) in there - it seems a very straightforward "love's over and i wish it wasn't" song
I assure you there is NO BBC "...Black Queen". "Record Collector" is not the bible, and has printed oft-repeated mistakes.
This is a myth. There is NO "Black Queen", There is no stand-alone version - you can even hear the fade into "Funny How Love is". It is THE released LP version.
SirGH: I keep saying, if the BBC version of Black Queen was nothing interesting, then why wasn't it shared along with the others?"
It HAS!!!!!!
The BBC "Black Queen" HAS been released - not officially - but it is out there. It was even in the hub - and I know that for a fact. It's just that you guys will not believe it. It has been shared over and over and over. My copy IS an original session recording - NOT a copy from copy!
NO "...Black Queen".
Sorry.
i had a tape of this session - about 12 years ago - can't find it now...but can confirm - it definitely sounded like the album version
(you can hear the segue into FHLI - just!)
which leaves two options
1. they played the album version
2. they used the album version as a backing track - as they had done with previous sessions.
i accept what John says- but why can't someone from QP just come out and dispel the myths once and for all?
I agree, Freddie was magnificent at the sentimental, slow numbers. Many of my favourite Queen songs are ballads - Nevermore, Melancholy Blues, Lily of The Valley, Dear Friends, Take My Breath Away, Love of My Life, Jealousy, Life Is Real, Days of Our Lives etc etc.
Many artists can either sing the real rockers or ballads, but FM could do both in equally awesome measure.
Alex S: Thanks for the compliment. As to your request - "If anybody can put this track somewhere in the net so I can listen to it, I will be thankful".
It IS in the hub. It HAS been released. The only thing is that people do NOT want to believe it.
But it IS out there!
