What's your favorite book? Mine is, "The Green Mile" by Stephen King. After watching most of the movie on a free t.v. program, I immediately wanted to read it and I think that the book is so much better than the movie.
Miss James, you worldy scholar.. that's actually 'Harper Lee' link :)
I don't read much, but Shawshank Redemption is a better film that Green Mile IMO. And a new special edition DVD is coming out Oct. 5.
My favorite classic, because it took me months to get through it, is 'The Fountainhead' by Ayn Rand.
I don't really read books, except for music related books and biographies.
I like Johnny Green's book "A Riot Of Our Own - Night and Day With The Clash". That's my favourite I'd say.

She only wrote one book, its certainly one of my favourites. The last book that I read was, A Child Called It, and I blubbed all the way through it, though I tried not to let my wife see.

Sidhartha, good story about trying to find out what our existence means in this world. Also, Ishmael I just read it for a class and it was pretty good.
I loved "Of Mice and Men." That was the only book that has ever made me cry. Right now, I'm reading "Angela's Ashes" which is one of the most depressing books ever. It's still a great book though.

I have a lot of favorite books. As I used to be a big reading nerd cause I did not have much else to do.
I like "Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy"
"The Trench" and "Meg"
Fav books as a Kid "Bridge to Terabithia" and "Matilda"
"Kama Sutra: The Art of Lovemaking" Just kidding on this one. :^)
"Muppets Read the ABC's" again, kidding :^P
"Jaws" and "the Beast" and "Jurassic Park" Hey, I was really in to monster type books for a while. Hence, all the sharks and sea creatures, and Dinosaurs.
And of course "The Bible" lol...
Sorry Bob, but I can't find any link between the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant and military history (if they didn't change the books). Can you explain?
I've read the Harry Potter series and think that they are great...but Green Mile was touching (even though it was fiction) to me...knowing that there must be quite a few innocent people that still get the death sentence (in limited places but still..).
lol GH - I'm scared to say...are rats going to eat my eyes out if I answer one way or the other? ;^)
"Of Mice and Men" was a horrible book, imo. I couldn't wait to finish it.

The Da Vinci Code
I'm reading that right now! I'm about halfway through, and so far it's awesome!!!
But my favourite bood is called Firebringer, by David Clement Davies.

No rats... just the aforementioned cookie.
You mentioned Orwell, so I was hoping you had read 1984. The answer is five, since the party was all about mind control. Still a fav of mine.
No cookie for you.
Oh, okay, Chris. ;^P
GH - I have read 1984 and nearly every other Orwell book. The reason I said the thing about the rats was cos when he was being questioned, they were threatening the main character with rats. I understood the question about the numbers - I was just trying to be humorous with my answer to you. lol Now give me a cookie, dagnabbit! :^)

Hehe... sorry, my Orwell library consists of one book at the moment. :P You get a half-eaten cookie for your efforts.
