Has love of Queen or Freddie ever motivated you to do something you would otherwise never have tried? For me, it's doing some volunteer work for the local AIDS office. And I applied to go back to school to do a degree in nursing, but was not accepted - probably because of my age. |
Zander05 28.08.2004 23:23 |
I've been inspired by Queen to do lots. I've given to charity, joined my school choir, learned how to read music, etc. Good for you for working in a hospice :-) I'm sure you'll get your degree someday. Rock on. |

I'm definetely motivated now to get more involved with AIDS charities. |

I've taken up guitar, and I'm going to walk in the AIDS Walk this October. |

I've used different colour shoelaces in my tennis shoes, black and white laces. I had to check the Hammersmith 75 video to be sure that I have the right colour on the right side (like Freddie's nails). |

I'm always looking for the 3stripe adidas Freddie wore a lot - now adidas has some new retro reissues but I haven't seen the white and black ones. |

Got a tattoo of the crest. Does...that count? |
SergeantPepperDG 29.08.2004 11:33 |
I painted my left fingernails black... partly cause I just wanted an excuse to buy something at the new CVS near my house. (IT'S CARPETED!) |

I made curly fries on Brian May's birthday. |

Nope |
mariner10 29.08.2004 14:45 |
The tattoo has to count! Wonder where the best place to put it would be... The curly fries!... it's the twilightzone!! Love it!! |
Music Man 29.08.2004 14:47 |
I was almost inspired to buy an "affordable" Burns Brian May guitar. Does that count? |
mariner10 29.08.2004 14:56 |
OK I think it can count. |
Music Man 29.08.2004 15:28 |
Hooray. |

Play the Game inspired me to go home with a very attractive cowboy one night in November (from a blues bar) and drink shots of Stolchnaya and get otherwise crazy... He was shocked to learn that Crazy Little Thing was a Queen song... If it weren't for Freddie's lyrics, that would NOT have happened. Dear Freddie... always the best! |
Pim Derks 29.08.2004 17:05 |
I think I probably wouldn't put my sweaty scrotum on a Freddie poster and then ejaculate on my I Was Born To Love You 7" single if it hadn't been for my love of Queen. |
FriedChicken 29.08.2004 17:08 |
I wouldn't have got Aids if it wasn't for my love for Queen and Freddie |

and your love for being pounded in the ass by a big fat brown junk with a 16" cock who calls you his "sweety pie" ofcourse. |

I think now certain people are born to do certain things. I think freddies death was meant to show the world about aids. |

I guess I could say my love of Queen inspired me, or more like taught me, to be an individual and not give a shit about what other people say. In 5th grade I had a bunch of friends who liked Queen, then that next year it was not cool to like Queen anymore becasue Freddie was bi. So I put up with years of shit for liking Queen, all through middle school and the first 2 years of high school. I wasn't really taken seriously again until long after I got into other bands and in my jr. and sr. year of high school all those old friends learned I was going to the Queen cons. and still loved Queen. But all that ridiculing made me a stronger person, and I honestly think Queen had a huge part in teaching me to go against the norm. |

They're available on Ebay sometimes...but good luck to whoever buys 20 year old used shoes on Ebay. To answer the question... before Freddie died aids was never really an issue to me. Well I was 10 when he died... But Freddie's death made me think about aids a lot and I always keep reading a lot about aids...try to keep up to date with the development of treatment and all that. And I support a local aids group by donating money every month. |

I did, I did. I have one picture but it's an abso-friggin'-lute Barry Crocker (erm, shocker). I'm intending to get a better one when I move back home (hopefully next week. I was foolish enough to take the only shot in a dark, dark room with idiotic lighting and just after it was done so it looked swollen and red around the edge. Also the bepanthen around it didn't help. Never fear, I soon shall have some quality looking pictures. Enough to have people scream in awe! Well..not really. It could have been coloured and I still will get it in colour. |
MexQueenFM 31.08.2004 13:14 |
you better post those damn pictures and now you should get an Eagle tattoo |

My love for Queen inspired me to write a novel about a young gay who is desperately (and hopelessly) in love with a good-looking guitarist (who happens to be straight) and who sacrifices his dreams, his future and his happiness just to sing in the rock band of the man he loves. He eventually saves the guitarist's life (after lots of tears and a lot of pain), but the guitarist has nothing to give in return, except his true sincere friendship, not his love, cos he can't love him... Yeah, I guess it's a very sad love story and has nothing to do with Queen, but I think the novel was inspired by Freddie being gay. If it weren't for my love of Queen, the idea of such a love story would have never occured to me. |

Yes , the song Don't Stop Me Now has inspired me to tell people to shut up while I'm having fun. One of my friends has also stopped being so cautious because of Queen , I'm so proud of her!! |
geeksandgeeks 01.09.2004 15:30 |
Yes, a lot of things. Among them, becoming active as a support of GLBT rights, picking up a guitar, and doing charity work. Not to mention, joining this web site. |
Music Man 01.09.2004 15:32 |
Oh yeah, I too, if you hadn't noticed, have joined this website. |
The Real Wizard 01.09.2004 15:43 |
Brian May has certainly been a big influence on me as a guitarist and songwriter, and the band's music was important to me during some hard times when I was younger. Also, it's safe to say my interest in AIDS awareness wouldn't so high if I didn't learn about the problem initally from being a Queen fan.
Music Man wrote: Oh yeah, I too, if you hadn't noticed, have joined this website. Thanks, captain obvious. :) |

Captain Obvious died in an explosion. Der. It's pretty obvious. He's temporarily being replaced by Obvious Man. Listening to Queen has made me make other people like it too. So far I've converted around 9 people which is good. Queen being so broad with its spectrum of songs has allowed the people I've converted to say 'Yeah, I like March of the Black Queen but I don't really like this Sweet Lady'...or something like that. 9 people converted and rising! |
MetzgerR 01.09.2004 20:03 |
Having only known of Queen's existence for approximately four months, I'm still discovering completely novel and amazing things about them constantly - but I think that it's in Freddie's illness that I am most inspired...it's led me to begin volunteer and charity work, and I think it also serves as a reminder as to how precious every person really is. |
sonic killer 01.09.2004 23:45 |
well im definitely more into promoting aids awareness now im planning to volunteer & walk at the aids walk los angeles next month |
iGSM 02.09.2004 01:47 |
I was also going to give blood but then I worried myself into not giving blood. Not because of stabby-stab time but because I joked to myself 'heh, could have AIDS on it'. From then on I paranoided myself up real good. Also that and I've had a tattoo and I'm certain you can't give blood for 12 months after a tattoo. |
Brianmay1975 02.09.2004 06:56 |
IGSM, you've already told us more than once about the tattoo... WHEN are we gonna see some pics of it?! |
iGSM 02.09.2004 08:26 |
All in good time. I've been busy the last couple of months doing nothing and zilch. It's hard work, I'll have you know..heh. When I get proper photos which should be next week. Hopefully. |
