The Full Monty. A most excellent film. Was billed here as a sort-of dodgy "adult" movie, which is rubbish. It really covers all sorts of topics very well, and it amazes me that it didn't make more of an impact on America. (The only scene people remember from it is the unemployment line.) Speaking of random, random films ... Adventure of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is another similar type film that, because of its supposed theme/target audience, was not generally well recieved in the US. Yet it addresses issues that many US film makers are hesitant to tackle. |

A movie that I don't think gets even a speck of the appreciation it deserves is "Clerks". The writing in that movie is brilliant! |

A film that got panned but I loved was a Sherlock Holmes spoof called Without A Clue, starring Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley. |

My parents rented The Full Monty when I was 5 and they let me watch it. I didn't understand it one bit. |

"My parents rented The Full Monty when I was 5" oohh... I've just aged about 20 years as i read that! |

gattaca is a great sci fi movie imho but not many people seem to like it |
Matti 01.08.2004 19:06 |
It was a good movie to watch in school... |
Ros 02.08.2004 00:02 |
The Full Monty is a fantastic movie! I got my mom to sit and watch it with me one day and I'm cracking up at all the jokes even tho I've seen it so many times... and she's just sitting there. At the end she was like "Yeah it was good, but I had a hard time understanding them. They were really British." *face-palm* I was so sad for her right then. |
Mr.Jingles 02.08.2004 00:13 |
I'm probably the only person on earth who thinks that 'The Lost World' was better than the first Jurassic Park movie. I still don't understand why people say so much crap about that movie. |

There are lots of heavily underappreciated movies. Psycho Beach Party Tremors Rope I Bury the Living Velvet Goldmine Au Revoir, Les Enfants The Green Mile (got cheated out of several Oscars) Singles L.I.E. I'm sure I could think of others, but I'm groggy. |
Mr.Jingles 02.08.2004 12:12 |
The Green Mile (got cheated out of several Oscars)Totally agree. Too X-Files like for the Academy, but nevertheless an excellent film. |
Mr.Jingles 02.08.2004 12:21 |
I don't know which one is the most underated movie in history, but I know for a fact that "The English Patient" is definitely the most overated after winning 9 Oscars for 3 hours of absolute boredom. |
Matti 02.08.2004 12:52 |
Lol. Yeah Tremors! It's so cheesy- I still like to watch it though. :) |

"The Green Mile (got cheated out of several Oscars)" its good but not that good. Besides its Tom Hanks... Denzel Washington in Malcolm X (1992)was awesome. Tremendous acting in a difficult role. |

Tom Hanks is always great. Even though 'The Ladykillers' sucked, he gave a great performance as always. |

Stop, or My Mom Will Shoot! Most people find it stupid, but I love it. The chemistry between Joe (Stallone) and his mom was great. "YOU BOUGHT A MACHINE GUN OFF THE BACK OF A VAN!?" |

Agneepath! wrote: Here's one for you, the greatest actor that no one here has heard of: Amitabh Bachchan!I've heard of him, but I have no idea who he is. The only foreign films I usually watch are Japanese anime flicks or the occasional Bollywood film. An actor who's underappreciated, though, is David "I'm playing Professor Lucas in the next Harry Potter movie" Thewlis. I didn't think he was quite right for said role, but he was awesome in Total Eclipse. |

Amitabh Bachchan - a Bollywood mega star: link Generally speaking, I don't like Indian films - too much pointless singing and dancing. But amitabh is the best actor i've ever seen. He has that one thing which many actors lack: screen presence. He was recently voted the Star of the Millenium n a BBC online poll. |
