After two years away since their release in 2000 of the mixed reviews of Little Kix, Mansun announced in May 2002 that it was back with a forthcoming album simply entitled "Mansun" and set about doing a small venue tour of the UK where they previewed some of their new tracks.
Little did anyone know that this tour was to be their last... After much silence and an absense in the release of the album, guitarist Dominic Chad announced in May 2003 that they had split with no real explanation why.
Nothing was said for a year and there was no release of the lost album even though fans set up a popular petition to the band's record label, Parlophone. Then in May 2004, lead singer Paul Draper announced the release of a three CD box set encorporating the fourth lost album aswell as a best of the band's B-Sides (equally as good as their A-Sides) and new demos and rarites dug up at Abbey Road.
Today the tracklisting and release date was announced. See here for details! link
Hopefully this album will close the legacy of a great and much missed band who were all too often wrongly classed as Oasis copyists. Anyone who has ever listened to their albums (especially Six) will hopefully see that this was not the case. Roll on 27th September!
