I just got back from a (very) late night trip to the store to get Big Fish on DVD! I LOVE this movie. Very moving, well acted and such beautiful visuals! But, This topic really isn't about the movie. Buying the movie made me remember that it is based on a book. So, I would like to know, Have any of you have read the book? And if so, Was it as good as the movie (if not better)? I'm really interested in picking up a copy of the book, But figured I'd ask around first. Thanks in advance! :D
Great movie! I love Tim Burton. Of course, i was biased in the movie's favor from the beginning...but even disregarding that.
I actually didn't know it was based off a book...I'll have to look for that.
Tim Burton burned me with Mars Attacks, but I gave up all hope for him after Planet of the Apes. I have little desire to see Big Fish, other than to see the 4 people that Brandon knows in it.

I know what you mean! I gave up hope after Planet Of The Apes as well! But, In my eyes, This movie totally redeemed him. I forgave him, And I'm sure you can as well. You really should check it out, It is one of the best movies I've ever seen! And trust me, I wouldn't steer ANYONE to a crap-fest. :P
Ms.Souter wrote: I watched that, Cried for about an hour at the end of the film, Its fantastic, 5 Gold Stars (for the film and book) if I say so my self
You're not the only one. Most of the people I've talked to got all bleary-eyed at the end.
REVIEWS (on the book)
Winston Groom, author of FORREST GUMP
'A talented and fascinating writer. Daniel Wallace has created a jewel in BIG FISH'
BIG ISSUE
'Eloquent and witty...beautifully illustrating the importance of having the chance to say goodbye'
That movie made me giggle.
It was a good movie and all, but I don't think I want to read the book. The main reason I liked the movei was because of the visuals. And the ending was funny.
