What you guys think about Queen II album?? I think it is awesome, one of their greatest works (especially the intro "Procession"). Many people find it too epic and complicated... |
RMT 09.03.2004 07:00 |
Quite simply breathtaking! I didn't understand it when I first heard it, but after a few listens it became possibly my favourite Queen album (along with MIH). Now you've reminded me of how good it is I think I'll put it on in the car on my way out now. Those early Queen albums were magnificent! |
Josuè 09.03.2004 07:11 |
Queen II is without a doubt the most strange and mystic album. I love it made me dream several times about its history. I can asure you that those dreams were awesome, like a film with the ost of Queen II. I even drawed the map and the thigs that appear on my dreams!! :D:D:D |
Whisperer 09.03.2004 10:04 |
1. Procession - I skip all instrumental songs. 2. Fatre To Son - Good songs, but gets boring pretty fast. 3. White Queen - Great piece of music! 4. Some Day One Day - Boring! 5. The Loser In The End - Avarage Roger Song. 6. Ogre Batlle - Quit powerful. Good song. 7. The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke - Silly, but still nice to listen to. 8. Nevermore - Boring! 9. The March Of The Black Queen - Some good parts, but overall terrible! 10. Funny How Love Is - Bad song 11. Seven Seas Of Rhye - Great song! (12.) See What A Fool I've Been - The worst Queen song ever! I guess I'm in the minority of 5% of Queen fans with my opinion. |

Queen II is Queen's finest work....White Queen, Father to Son, Procession, Fairy Feller, MOTBQ....all masterpieces...i listen to most of these songs daily..and have been for about the past 10 yrs now :) those first 3 albums defined queen...i couldn't imagine the queen catalogue without them! |
Robin 09.03.2004 10:54 |
It's a masterpiece. So strange and mystical. It's what I play when I want to go to neverland. lol! I absolutley love it! |
Fenderek 09.03.2004 12:00 |
Second best album, just after Sheer heart Attack.. Masterpiece... |

It's a fantastic album - I was blown away (not literally) when I listened to it for the first time. |
siljeoen 09.03.2004 13:01 |
Absolutely genious!! |
Dances With Freddie 09.03.2004 14:40 |
one of my all time fav's. |
Mayboy 09.03.2004 15:31 |
Superb album, White Queen, and March of the Black Queen are my favs :) |
Daburcor? 09.03.2004 15:34 |
I love this album! Knocks your socks off! |
Flashman 09.03.2004 15:36 |
It's a beauty! And the person who described 'Nevermore' as 'boring' should be taken outside and shot. Then slapped about a bit. Then stretched. Actually no - shot last. That will learn them. |
Little_Queenie 09.03.2004 16:00 |
Masterpiece, one of my faves. White Queen and MOTBQ, excelent songs. Fairy feller - beautiful:)) |
Daburcor? 09.03.2004 16:02 |
Wow... For once, I actually AGREE with Flashman! :| |
Flashman 09.03.2004 16:04 |
Dan: "Wow... For once, I actually AGREE with Flashman! :|" So, you would happily torture someone simply because they don't like a record as much as you do? You'll go a long way kid. |

it's only word and its MAGNIFICENT! |

Its a bit crap really. |

White Side is nice. Black Side is awesome!! |
rhapsody__87 09.03.2004 18:52 |
I went through a period where ALL I would listen to would be Queen II. I think it's a truly amazing album... it's just so perfect, especially "White Queen" and "The March of the Black Queen". :) |
Saint Jiub 09.03.2004 20:49 |
Fairy and March are absolute masterpieces, but the rest are undistinguished Queen - IMHO. |
Poop_First_Patchy 09.03.2004 20:52 |
Awesomely cool! |
Saint Jiub 09.03.2004 21:01 |
link In the previous poll of 30 QueenZoners, 5 of 6 songs from the "Black" side ranked in the top 1/3 of 188 songs, but ZERO of 5 songs from the "White" side were from the top 1/3 of 188 songs. Maybe the sides should have been named "Heaven" and "Hell"???? Well ... perhaps not ... |
Penis - Vagina 09.03.2004 21:06 |
"White Side is nice. Black Side is awesome!!" Thank you for saying it that way. I was going to say something similar earlier. I think White Side would have worked a little better without 'The Loser In The End'. No offense to Roger but it just doesn't fit. I love the rest of the album though. |
Gecko 09.03.2004 21:56 |
I think its their best LP ever(seems that Q2 and ADATR seem to flip flop as my fav) but i think i tend to go towards this one 6/10 times. The LP is like a visit to middle earth while on a acid trip. I think White Queen is "haunting" and i like the words to FFMS (ever since janet showed me the painting, it became more lifelike) at times, i wonder if the sond "Innuendo" would have fit on this LP |
Saffron Caribou 09.03.2004 22:04 |
Black side is the best. The White side goes well until 'Loser in the End'. It looses the common thread of the album. Queen 2 reminds me of Lord of The Rings for some odd reason ;) :P |
Lara 10.03.2004 02:20 |
splandid!one of my favourite, along with Innuando. That's Brian's favourite too,as far as I remember.I like that atmosphere of the 70's.Apparently Freddie was highly influential on it.Keep rocking Fred.Wherever you are:( |
Pim Derks 10.03.2004 02:21 |
Brilliant album - the only track which IMO isn't brilliant is Funny How Love Is. Still a nice track though :) |
goinback 11.03.2004 06:10 |
IMHO this the most album-oriented Queen album, like a concept album. It stands as a complete work of art rather than lots of individual songs. |
FriedChicken 11.03.2004 06:26 |
I love Queen II, especially the white part, Brian did a great job, Especially White Queen. I just love the arrangements on Procession, FTS and White Queen! Probably the best song (WQ) in the entire catalogue |
The Fairy King 11.03.2004 07:24 |
best prog-rock album in the world...EVER!!! I was like 13 when i bought the album and i immediately understood the sheer brilliance....it's my fave Queen album. There are no flaws, no not even The Loser In The End! :P |
dragonzflame 11.03.2004 17:32 |
Love it. Second only to ANATO, and it's a close call. |
TheMiracle 11.03.2004 20:53 |
Queen II is a great album. I love listening to it, esp. that great guitar riff in Ogre battle and rad solos in the March Of The Black Queen. |

fairymercury 12.03.2004 08:16 |
oops forgot to right a message. i love that album, it is very mystical and inspirational and very well blended and created! pure genius, which was followed by another album of sheer genius, being sheer heart attack (love that album!!)...i just read my message back, i confused myself ;D |
lordmazza 21.03.2004 18:07 |
I think all the songs on Queen II are masterpieces! Pure genius. Why don't we get any good new ideas in new music like this? This kicks (and most other old rock) kicks new pop and rock's butt! Who else would have thought of "The Fairy-Feller's Master Stroke"? Doing a song about a painting, pure brilliance! Very strange and perculiar, but that is what makes a great work of art rock! |
Janet 21.03.2004 18:15 |
I adore Queen II. IMHO, it is the best Queen album. Haunting, mystical, pure escapism. White Queen is my all time favorite Queen song, with Fairy Feller's Masterstroke a very close second. And I believe that The March of the Black Queen far surpasses Bohemian Rhapsody in every way. In short, I just love it. |
MexQueenFM 21.03.2004 19:45 |
i would say the best album by Queen, it's awesome! |
MercuryArts 21.03.2004 23:34 |
This is w/out a doubt one of their finest hours. Sheer brillance in writing, arranging and performing. And yes I like Loser in the End as well. Lots of attitude in that song. Roger sounds great singing it. It is different from the rest of the album, but its a nice interlude between the intensity of Side White & the mind blowing epic saga of Side Black. I can only dream of what it would have been like to see/hear Queen perform it in its entirety |
The Real Wizard 22.03.2004 01:47 |
"Many people find it too epic and complicated..." Damn their musically feeble minds. |
Greyseal 23.03.2004 15:03 |
Turned me into to a Queen Fanatic. |
7Innuendo7 23.03.2004 17:15 |
Queen II seems like one really long song or more like a classical composition...I would compare it favorably to Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 "From the New World" but hey, it's only rock n' roll... ;) |
bolan 25.03.2004 12:24 |
Possibility of a 30th anniversary re-issue I hear from MOJO magazine. |
