What do you people think about Brian's response to Roger's interview on his soap box? Speaking of not laundering dirty linen in public ... It's understandable that Brian is angry about Roger's seemingly illoyal comments about their previous controversial projects but to have it out on the internet like this is a bit embarrassing to say the least. Apparently Roger and Brian have a talent to turn their own life into a soap opera, what a pity.
I saw it too YV. I think it's a shame that BHM has to publish these feelings online. I only hope it doesn't cause a major rift with Roger, I doubt it will, I'm sure they argue like cat and dog, but it's not every day BHM comes on his website and says that. He must be pretty pissed off. The comment about the money was rather amusing though!
Actually we (Brian also) dont know what exactly Roger said on interview, did the interviewer understand right or did translator translate it right, after that some Alex Lorias translated it back to English...and so on - perfect situation for broken telephone. I think Brian and Roger would talk and made things clear without any anger.
What a laugh! - Roger being 'peripheral' in all these projects.
Which just goes to proove my suspicions that 'Queen' is actually now Brian May branded as 'Queen'.
What I found hilarious was:
ROGER: It was Brian's ideas
BRIAN: No, not my ideas...
Apparently, those had to be SOMEONE'S ideas, yet suddenly they're both ashamed of saying- yeah, my project...
Maybe it's time to say clearly: it is about MONEY...?

to me, it's just a shame that the quarrels between two old men who used to rock the world with their music are now even online, where i'd just love to see beyonce's legs rather than britney's boobs.
It's really frustrating, I keep on collecting, researching, storing photos about what Queen used to be... and they were great. Seeing them now... it's just sad.
Why can't they just keep the memory of what they were?
I hope they will soon finish, I never thought it before but maybe a retire would bring them more honour than all the shit we (loyal fans who spend money and time..yes, LIFE) are getting from day to day (5ive, we will rock you sung by everyone, pepsi and the list may go on for hours).
*to me, it's just a shame that the quarrels between two old men who used to rock the world with their music are now even online*
Since when is mid 50's "old men?" Some people in Queenland throw the word "old" around a lot when referring to B&R. they are older then when they begand but hardly old men.
In rock world, they are old. If you ask 100 people, 97 will tell you that.
No offence to mid 50 people, of course! What I wanted to say is that I may understand quarrels between two new and hot singers, who are just too young to get it down.
The right word if you feel offended by "old", in this case, is "wise".
When I read Rogers' interview, I had a big grin and found it very funny what he wrote, that it all was brians' idea. I right away saw the humor that Roger used with it, but of course there is a little truth in this kind of jokes.
I am sure that Roger still loves the musical and all, he seems to enjoy in working together with Brian still and maybe he should like more performances, but that is a thing that was not mentioned in this
I think that Brian has a bit too much time to write his soup box, and that he should do better in keeping his comments for himself
It is not the first time that he expresses his feelings and that his ideas might be taken in a wrong way
I do think that Brian meant nothing bad with it, just giving Roger a bit back, but it is easy to misunderstand it
We, as fans, we read the things and do not know Brian or Roger that well to know the humor that they share
For a lot of people, that's the problem with 'Queen' today. Nobody's really keen on the musical which is old music repackaged, we'd like to see something new from people who are musicians. Brian and Roger are now full time businessmen and music's like a hobby.
So working with Five was not Brian's idea and it was not Roger's idea either?
I can guarantee one thing for sure: it was NOT my idea and it was NOT an idea of any Queen fan either.
It was my idea. Sorry, guys, but I suggested it as a joke to Flashman and iGSM one drunken night at the bar pub thingie, and we all laughed, but then Jim Beach walked up to us saying, "Please sign here saying you did not come up with the idea of Queen rerecording 'We Will Rock You' with 5ive." I signed, but managed to actually sign Rowan Atkinson's name instead of my own, so I suppose I'm really allowed to tell you all now.
I know that the 5ive thing has been some fan's idea, not Brian's or Roger's. That's why I was scared when someone else said "Now only Britney Spears is missing!"...
A coke for me, with lemon, pleeeeeaaaaase!! :)
That's why I was scared when someone else said "Now only Britney Spears is missing!"
It could have been worse - It could have been The Cheeky Girls!
Oops! ;-)
Hasn't Roger been saying publically for months that he would rather record/tour than continue doing what they are doing now? I seem to remember Roger's comment about trying to tear Brian away from the musical.
If that's true, wouldn't Brian be used to these types of comments by now?
I don't think it's that big an issue really.
I read both Bri and Rog's comments as being light-hearted, and I can see where both of them are coming from.
To be fair, Brian is correct in that neither the 5ive thing or the Pepsi thing were 'his idea'. He's stated on a few occasions that in both cases he was approached to get permission to use WWRY, and he allowed the song to be used.
I'm sure Rog was not as keen as Bri to then actually work with these people on a musical level, but the point is that the original idea for these projects was not Brian's; he just didn't say no.
Lookin back a few years ago Roger stated the he was excited about the 5ive thing as are not like any old boy band and the were exciting to work with!! Also Brian is right about they don't complain about the money
