Didn't want to hijack the other thread about bootleg audience chatter, but I saw a similar thread to this on a Who messageboard posted their favorite stage banter moments. And seeing as we have a lot of "collectors" of live shows here, maybe we could get a collection going of some of their favorite moments of on-stage banter either between the band members or between a band member and the audience.
On one recording I have of 'Fat Bottomed Girls' from 1980, the audience keep interrupting Freddie during the introduction and he says, "You shut up. You shut up as well! What is this?!"
Chicago 1980:
Freddie: Do you realize this is this first time time we've been here that there hasn't been snow on the ground? Fucking good job too!
Brian: We used to play in place called The Stadium? Is that Right?... They say this place is better. Is that Right?... I Don't know? In this age of computer aided design - How they can design a place this bad I do not understand.
Brian May 1998 at Rockstock near Chicago in August (opening of Another World Tour): What do you think about this President Clinton business? (then plays Business)
On the Japanese show from 2-13-81 (which is my birthday by the way) Freddie starts Mustapha and lets the crowd sing, he then yells "Sing it in Fuckin tune"
At the Chicago Stadium show of Sept. 80 Freddies asks if he should keep the moustche. The crowd roars back, NOOOOOOooooooooo! He asks, "Did you say no? Fuck off!!" A fan hollars back, "Fuck Off Yourself!" Priceless!
