Fellow fans, a question.
Would any of you be interested in an expanded "special edition" of the "Bohemian Rhapsody" soundtrack?
Keeping what they already have but adding a second CD that would include the rest of their Live Aid performance (WWRY, CLTCL and ITTWWC) along with other material such as a few more digitally remastered Smile tracks (I wouldn't mind them "revisiting" them either like they did with "Doing All Right" either.) Also thinking of other stuff; Roger's IILWMC should get a spot since they gave it a good ribbing in the movie. Perhaps include a song off of Freddie's "Mr. Bad Guy" solo album (this was a dramatic point of contention in the film so thematically it fits plus Queen have included solo tracks on Queen branded releases.) A few additional live performances previously unreleased like "39" (a scene showing them performing the song on a Japan tour was cut from the film but as it likely would be included as a bonus feature for the home video release it would make sense in that regard.) I'm sure people smarter than I could come up with more interesting bits as well.
Once Rami Malek starts stacking up award wins, the promotional blitz for the eventual home video and digital will kick into gear and that would be the time to release such a special edition soundtrack to capitalize on the big home video release.
What say you all?
Add in "I'm in love with my car" and "No one but you"
no non Queen songs meaning no Freddie solo stuff, it would be embarrassing to have some song with all instrumentals played only by non Queen members and be put on a Queen compilation album.
Nah its time to move on to new Queen Cds of unreleased tracks and believe me there is a mountain load of goodies in the vaults that Queen productions
are keeping back from us. Pointless releasing the film soundtrack again with tracks we have heard before.
The likelihood of Queen releasing full CD of unreleased music is not good.
A new SE of the soundtrack that would contain at least some unreleased or rare tracks is better than nothing. Additionally just because you would've or might've heard the rare tracks doesn't mean the rest of the world has.

They released solo material on Greatest Hits III so it's not unprecedented. No idea what you are referring to about "all instrumentals."
I think the post refers to incidental music.
Although we got those other artist piano versions on the Freddie Solo box dvd so I could see them doing that - there was plenty of stuff left off that they could've used in it's place.
I have a feeling Brian and Roger may do something with those Under Pressure sessions after the the movie has totally run it's course, just a thought. The OST album would be cool with a bonus disc of live tracks unreleased though and not Live at Wembley Champions or Rock You..
The fewer compilations the better, but I'm pretty sure there will be a Special Edition. Would be worthwhile only for Live Aid in full and Spotify version would satisfy me completely. Let's face it, we received 15 nice, "new", polished tracks following "Innuendo" plus a bunch of re-takes, remixes and live versions, that does me fine, no need to scrape the barrel anymore unless they just want to throw it out there in the original, unfinished form with B sides perhaps, for die-hard fans.
Now the 2011 2 disc versions are all but deleted, I'd be happy with a 2-3 disc set that compiles all the bonus EP tracks (minus BBC tracks), the 'new' OST tracks and perhaps even the stray Hollywood remixes / bonuses. That seems a reasonable prospect and potentially a decent little set. Would serve a purpose and tidy up the discography.
Assuming an all new anthology will never appear.
@dysan Yep, precisely that. Well, perhaps beside the HR remixes. How about B sides for the UK / European / Asian market and HR stuff for the States exclusively? ;-) Sorry, just having a laugh really, no offence to our American friends.

I hope that they reissue NotW on CD with the alternate album versions, now that the 2011 versions are going out of print.
