promising. roger's bass-drum has a nice design :-) |

I think General discussion is not place for this topic. Place for it is Queen + Adam Lambert. To say something about this performance. Nothing special. In fact, Adam's performance is ridiculous. I mean his hips dance is ridiculous. Still he is not Shakira. LOL |
Kuijpy 02.09.2018 10:33 |
What a boring show, againnooooooooooooooooo suprises |
A Word In Your Ear 02.09.2018 11:34 |
Yes, Brilliant that they have added a new song to set... And please feel free to post news that is Queen related in this section as some people are interested in what Brian & Roger are doing. They may not always check the Queen+ Adam Lambert Section.. |

Playing forced together on that little stage suits them more I think. I like. |
Sealion 02.09.2018 17:50 |
LOL I find some comments here very telling. Yes, Brian sand Roger are having fun playing that song. They are visibly having fun at every concert, I‘ve seen for years now. Yes, Roger‘s drum looks great - it‘s been looking like this since June. ;) Yes, they love playing together on that little B-Stage. Again: They have been touring with exactly that stage since June 2017. And they always play songs there together. ;) Maybe some of you should more often look at what Brian and Roger are up there doing. QAL is stills mostly Queen. Instead of leaving the QAL section to some trolls. ;-) I‘m mostly there, although I‘m a longtime Queen fan. But I can‘t find much joy anymore in talking about the stuff, that is long history. If you want to: fine. But just a hint: The present is amazing as well. If you just dare to look at it. And don‘t compare it to the past. Brian, Roger and Adam are now bringing joy to thousands of fans. Opening yesterday, filmed by a Queen fan (Camera most of the time on Brian): WWRY (fast) + TYMD link Roger: I‘m in Love with my Car (yesterday) link |
dysan 02.09.2018 17:55 |
I think you're jumping to conclusions pal. |
Sealion 02.09.2018 18:09 |
@dysan No. We all are different, and I know, you look more often into QAL than many of the others. I just found it very strange, that someone commented, that one should post such videos more often in this section in order to see, what Brian and Roger are up to these days. |

That performance shows that Lambert hasn't learned much in the decade or so since he appeared on Idol. He tries vocal gymnastics at every opportunity and doesn't service the song. It's as if he's still trying to impress Simon Cowell. |

Kuijpy wrote: What a boring show, againnooooooooooooooooo suprisesThey have a residency in Vegas. They're going to play what people know, not side black of Queen II. Adding the Elvis cover was very wise. They know exactly what they're doing. If you want to see an artist constantly reinventing the wheel, go see King Crimson or Jeff Beck. Whether or not we like it, Queen have been a hits band since 1980. |

Although he’s still Adam and does it occasionally. |

And I‘m only answering your posts, because there are many fans on here, who have no idea, how much these Q+AL gigs have evolved over the last 6 years and would believe you. Not that it really matters, but I do think it‘s unfair to criticize AL for things, that aren‘t true any longer. But keep your opinion, I have mine and we‘ve both made them clear. ;-) |
Holly2003 02.09.2018 20:58 |
"many fans on here" can make up their own minds by watching the video. If you want to make a case otherwise, it would be interesting if you would start a thread on the QAL forum pointing out changes, good or bad, between early QAL performances and later ones. There is very little of interest on the QAL forum as Glamberts seem incapable of saying anything remotely interesting about music, so it would probably make for a good read and discussion. |
Sealion 02.09.2018 21:22 |
You‘re right. That would be interesting to compare these performances. I‘m just not sure, if I‘m the right person to do this. Since AL is not my particular interest, I will have to search for good videos first. But at least I have ideas for which songs to look at. If I find the time, I might do this. |

Utterly riduculous how this wanker destroys any song he is covering with his goat voice more over in this section this is about Queen not the annoying coverband QAL |

Secretfantasy wrote: QAL firat night.. and they sing Heartbreak Hotel.. well done guys must be a highlight singing Vegas... linkNothing wrong with his choice. They often played Jail House Rock ( another Elvis Cover) back in the 70/80's they even did a medley of old Rock N'Roll songs at most of the Magic Tour Gigs. The is a great nod to Elvis and his Vegas shows, it's also a good move to play something any none Queen fans in the audience will be familiar with. . . . There is also another connection in this, CLTCL was a kind of early Elvis pastiche, and they certainly borrowed that late 50's composition and open production sound. Brian, in the solo, was heavily influenced by Scotty Moore the guy who played on Heart Break Hotel. So if you put some thought into what you've chosen to pick fault with, you'd find a lot of reason for them to have played it. |
*goodco* 04.09.2018 18:32 |
I'll never forget reading a review in The Detroit News of Queen's concert during 'The Game' tour at a crazy Joe Louis Arena, Detroit, (the Lions had adopted AOBTD as their theme song). As to Queen starting off with 'Jailhouse Rock', the reviewer commented of it being an homage for their later playing of CLTCL, and that they were also trying to play off of the success of the 'The Blues Brothers' movie (released in the summer of that year). I've watched the Q+AL 'Heartbreak Hotel / CLTCL' vid link It's fine. It's fun....wish I could experience it in person. |

Lambert's looking a bit porky these days. I just find him cringe-worthy. As mentioned by others, I also think this post belongs in the Queen+ AL part of this forum. |
