Can someone tell me why these songs have been removed from the setlist ? I hope the at least one song will return in the europe shows. |

Because they are livin' in their OWN bubble/ world and like Adam stated : ' Why? Because we felt so' Brian said: "!I only play songs I feel comfortable with. I used to practise a lot, but only play these days to what I feel is right" " I tend not to play difficult things" ======= So what you get at the end is one fucking Greatest hits setlist like they played since reforming with Paul Rodgers 2005 and still do. Therefore I lost interest in this whole Queen + project and succesfully sold my four Queen / Adam tickets two weeks ago. |

^^^ to Asher your question have a read of Real Wizards posts in the Good while it lasted thread. I think he is pretty much on the mark ad to why they've chosen to make the changes they have. |

Look at the difference between the 2005 setlists and now. And the production and pacing of the show is completely different. But if you need to quote mine to make yourself feel better, then all the power to you. Since you're not going to the show now, maybe you can spend that evening scouring youtube for five guitarists who can play the Bohemian Rhapsody solo properly (spoiler alert: you won't find them). And maybe then you'll realize that's just Brian May's sense of modesty. Not all bands are Pearl Jam or Bruce Springsteen with rotating setlists and obscure tracks galore. Queen are a hits band to 99% of the public, so they're going to play the hits. The last thing an artist wants to see is blank faces in the crowd. If Brian and Roger didn't want to play It's Late, they wouldn't have tried in the first place. On one night Brian even blogged that they played their "best It's Late so far", and hasn't mentioned any other song to date. What does that tell you? |

"Queen are a hits band to 99% of the public" - Unfortunately, this is true. And it is also sad, because their '70s albums, at least, were quite eclectic and very enjoyable. |

I dont understand...the tour is a News of the world "tribute anniversary" ...and the most important two songs were dropped? |

I guess to 95 % of the people who attend the show the most important songs of NOTW are WWRY an's WATC and the majority does not miss Wings and Late. |

I saw the show in Montreal. It was absolutely fantastic. They did not play SYW or It's Late... and prior to seeing the show I too was a little bitter with the expectation that they would probably not play it that night. However, after watching that production... I was left incredibly impressed. HAD they played either SYW or It's Late, it would have definitely messed with the flow of the setlist. They don't need to prove themselves anymore... so SYW and It's late are not mandatory.. In the end, they need to put on a show for the 15-22K that are paying to watch them. Not the 1-2K that would love to hear Fairy Feller, March of the Black Queen or Hangman! lol. I agree with the Band on this one. |

Hi Bob, I'm so sick of this Greatest Hits setlist and the way QP marketings this whole anniversary concept. They will play five songs of the NOTW album still says Queenonline.com. Yeah right... minus Late and Wings that leaves Rock you and Champions ( which they play at each show since Freddie was still around). Only new song of NOTW is Get Down Make Love. Nobody can play the BoRhap solo better. Of course... Brian created it. Nobody van play 'surfin'with the alien better than Satriani. Of course... it's based on his style and skills at the time. Of course they are a hits band and they have to play the hits, but please do something refreshing with these other songs |

In 2 weeks I will see them in Nashville. Not really an Adam fan, but have been a Queen fan for 40 years. I have never had the opportunity to see them live. It means so much to me that I will be able to spend an evening with Brian and Roger listening to music they created that has been the soundtrack of my life. I don't care if it's a greatest hits show. I don't care that they have dropped certain songs or added others. Just grateful to be able to spend an evening enjoying music that has meant so much to me. Not going to complain about the set list, or Adam, or whatever. It's Brian fucking May and Roger fucking Taylor. It's 2017 and they are still here, playing and performing, in a time when we are losing so many top performers. Be happy we still have that! |

Damn. I was hoping it was just a break to give their vocalist easier work during recovery. Instead, it's a kick to their "let's honor NOTW's Anniversary" notion. It's only 13 minutes of a complete show and they were well spread apart. This really sucks for long time fans who likely purchased their tickets on the rave reviews of the initial shows. I went to see Brian and Roger rock....those couple of tracks show some guts and hint at their rock side Ah well. |
Daniel Nester 24.07.2017 02:05 |
"Spread Your Wings" has a lot of good qualities, but I wouldn't say it shows they can rock out. I think I'm most disappointed in no "It's Late," but it was never a live tour de force. What did Freddie say live? This is a real effer to sing? Psyched to see three upcoming shows. |
Dr Magus 24.07.2017 12:15 |
I'd actually like to see the Queen Extragavanza play the whole NOTW album in it's entirety. Not interested in the lambert circus. |

A friend of mine saw them at Mohegan Sun in CT last night and spoke with a roadie about the dropping of SYW and It's Late. The roadie said they were dropped because of 'time constraints.' Not sure if I'm buying that, as you'd think they would have had all the timing worked out well before the tour started. That said, one of the last performances of SYW from July 4th is a condensed version, without the fast rocking section toward the end. That version sounded great and I didn't see any issues with it being a difficult song to either sing or play, so I don't subscribe to that reason, either. Sure, it's not as well known a tune as the regular hits, but NOTW is one of their best selling US albums. I think Queen aren't giving the US audiences enough credit. Still, couldn't they cut IWTBF instead, especially considering the video for the song was likely one of the reasons for Queen's demise in the US in the 80's? |

Spread Your Wings should replace 'Two Fux', it would fit in nicely there |
Grantcdn1 25.07.2017 05:04 |
They could even include them in a medley or mix Its Late with Get Down Make Love like in the BBC sessions...they could start 5 minutes earlier too... .I doubt its time but they must also be tough to play...and there are better substitutes to IWTBF...for me it is ok but doesn't add anything to the show whereas a NOTW gem would....and why not let newcomers hear some gems... interesting 3 songs from each of the Works, NOTW,Jazz, 2 from the Game, and none from Innuendo? Having said all that I have to give them credit for putting on an amazing show... |

The real band was Freddie, Brian, Roger and John. Oh and what is or isn't on my resume has no bearing whatsoever on my having an opinion and the right to express that opinion freely on an internet forum. If you take offence at my calling it a circus then not my problem i'm afraid. |

You, with that line of thought, would have to turn down almost every other musician because almost every other band with a long history fits your circus criteria. |

If you take offence at my calling it a circus then not my problem i'm afraid. It's not so much that I personally take offense as much as you're just plain misguided and myopic in your views. You are letting your emotional connection to a band lineup that no longer exists cloud over your ability to see two members of that band do something else, to the point of personally attacking one of the members of the touring band for the simple act of getting a good job. So yes - pointing out your lack of musical understanding highlights how unqualified you are to judge his choices and associated success. Indeed, you're free to express that on a forum, just as much as others are free to fill in the blanks of what you're missing. But considering you also trolled a friend of Freddie Mercury's earlier today by asking about the size of the late singer's genitals, perhaps the two minutes used up on this post of mine could have been better spent. |
