It could just be a case of coincidence, but I've always felt a line in 'Summer '68' written and sung by Richard Wright, on Pink Floyd's Ummagumma reminded me of the opening line from 'Some Day One Day.' Also, a line in 'Remember A Day,' another Richard Wright tune, is similar to one in Some Day One Day.
Summer '68 (Richard Wright) (1969)
We met just six hours ago.
The music was too loud.
Some Day One Day (1974)
You never heard my song before the music was too loud
Lyrically they're similar, but the melody, vocal and delivery bears some relation as well.
The other line is in
'Remember A Day' (Richard Wright) from A Saucerful Of Secrets (1968)
Queen - you shall be it if you wish
Some Day One Day
A misty castle waits for you and you shall be a queen
Again, there is s slight similarity in the feel of the vocal delivery..that sort of hazy, gently mystical, otherwordly feel.
Well spotted.
Considering the chorus of 'Fat Old Sun' is almost a lift of the chorus of Smile's 'Earth', I guess now they're even !
The Floyd and Smile did lots of gigs together, so it wouldn't be surprising if they inadvertently were influenced by one another.

Ah, true...there ya go. I hadn't thought of that relationship bewteen FOS and Earth, but you're right. Curious.
PS Please ignore my empty response above...an accidental 'post reply' with no content yet!
Let's not forget they both have a song called "The Show Must Go On"
Oh, and Floyd also had a song called "Empty Spaces" from The Wall. 1st line from Queen's TSMGO? "Empty Spaces...." Though i think that one's coincidental.
Not quiet a Rick Wright/Brian May similarity, but I guess we can see how Pink Floyd are an influence to Queen.
