Here is my Hammy 79 that I last updated in 2009 from a variety of sources, incl audience audio to fill in a few gaps.
It's from QTV and has been re-edited into the correct order.
The fan clubs copy is damaged during CLTCL and so I replaced that from the ZDF "Queen Special" broadcast. I'm not sure if the far superior Japanese broadcast of that track was available at the time. If it was then I probably chose to use the ZDF version as it is closer in quality to the rest of the concert.
It is PAL.
This has been circulated before, but I'm not sure if it was ever circulated here on QZ.
At the time I made this, I believed it to be the most complete version available and the best quality I'd ever seen: hence the claims I make during the start of the video.
Judge for yourselves.
Sorry. No Torrent. They don't work for me :( link
Here is a 50 second sample: link
Try it now. I've renamed the file, logged out and it works for me.
Everyone will have to retag it as an .iso file.
Chinwonder.
Was it really necessary to cut and paste my entire opening post to your reply?
Thanks for posting it again, the opening titles look a bit familiar but I don't recall a QTV logo on any version I saw before.
The quality looks decent enough though.
A later broadcast of this was DOG free, but by that time, Pontins channel was plagued with picture interference.
I might actually send a sample of that to the Chief to see if his software can remove it as I think also have Paris '79 from the same year, again DOG free but with interference.
Thanks, this version looks great but I think it runs a tad slow in some places but that's probably just the tape. At least it doesn't have that awful colour bleeding issue as some other copies :)
Thanks again!

Nice ! Thanks for this. I'd only seen compilations where songs from the 1980 TV broadcast were mixed in at will.
The audio mix is a bit iffy - there's a delay on Freddie's vocal in Now I'm Here where there isn't any on the audience tape or on the Kampuchea LP, and the audience is barely audible when they are singing. Clearly it's a different raw mix for the video feed, but the delay is peculiar - would this have been done live or post?

As I recall the reception wasn't very good in 2001 when I recorded Caracas.
The audio sounded fine though and I shared a lossless copy of that a while back on QZ.
What year was Hammersmith '79 broadcast?

I have no idea.
It was certainly broadcast twice at Prestatyn.
It's not something I kept notes of and I didn't keep the Convention timetables back then for the simple reason that by the time the weekend was over, it was little more than a tatty rag, having been in and out of my pocket for 3 days, events circled etc.
