Sunnuvabitch! if only I'd known. I'd have got tickets and gone. Guess it was probably all up for grabs and discussed with the Adam Lambert fan club before being made public. Guess theres ONE reason to join. A chance to see them in person (*again) but this time, for free. probably just promotion. But knowing the gayness of the show, they'll probably be involved in a bit or two. I have no recording device for the tube unfortunately, and get up at 5am... so it's unlikely I'll watch |

sgs8789 I have just read the Instagram link, and one reply from a Adam Lambert Fan was..... "Woohoo! Can't wait to see the show Monday!!!!".... The info that I know of, is that it will be broadcast on "Friday" does anyone know if will be in fact broadcast on "Friday" or "Monday"? (Today) |
sgs8789 30.01.2017 06:17 |
They aren't listed as a guest this week (open the link below and scroll down to "this weeks guests") so maybe they'll be shown the week of Feb 6-10, 2017. Sting is on the show Tue, Jan 31st and if you look at the bassists Instagram account Sting was also the subject of one of her posts. That being said the original rumor was that they were going to be on the show with Mindy Kaling which is Thur, Feb 2nd so maybe they'll be announced later in the week (wouldn't be good publicity to do it that way though). link |

I do actually watch the James Corden show, (or rather I record it and watch it the next night), it doesn't have a new show Friday night, It runs Monday to Thursday nights with a repeat of an earlier show on Friday night, However it doesn't go out till 12:37am after Colbert finishes, so the Thursday night showing is actually very early Friday morning. I presume that is the cause of the confusion and it is the Thursday night show were talking about here. I also know that sometimes they record segments for showing later, so its possible they filmed it on the Mindy Kaling recording day but it is for a later date. Or alternatively, they recorded it for showing on the night Mindy Kaling is there for real. basically I don't know is where I'm going with this but you can usually tell from the monologue whether its a completely pre-recorded show or if it was done that day. Also, they might not be listed as a guest if they aren't on the couch. I know way too much about this show. edit: I went to the website, the Friday 3rd show is definitely a repeat, so I would guess it is the Thursday night show were talking about if it is definitely the Mindy Kaling one. That is broadcast at 12:37am on Friday morning, but for TV listing purposes is still Thursday. As tickets go on general sale Friday morning it would make sense to be on Thursday nights show. |

I really hope they play WWRY too. They have never played it live before, and that is what a creative rock band wants to do for sure! |
matt z 02.02.2017 08:35 |
EDIT: after reading the above: Well. never mind my ramble here. Previously taped segment will likely be two performances with AOBTD as online content? who knows. but if they recorded 3 tunes - I think it's VERY unlikely they'd medley them into one 7 min performance. just hopeful I guess. They ARE signed with Universal; promotion machine time. Only without advance notice - this kind of promotion is pretty dismal |
The Fairy King 02.02.2017 08:39 |
Great news indeed. Graham Norton would be nice as well...with just the three of them sitting on the couch...plus maybe a comedian at the end of that couch. :D |
ggo1 02.02.2017 12:09 |
I'm just catching up with my recorded shows and I am currently watching Mondays episode. It starts with a note that all the shows this week are pre taped. So it probably is part of the show rather than just a 'bit'. |
matt z 02.02.2017 13:59 |
ohhh right. .. to fit in with rehearsal for the bullshit Grammy s |
ggo1 03.02.2017 00:10 |
Ok, so it was a 'bit' but it was a good bit. I enjoyed it... cheesy but fun. Straight after the opening titles, James mentioned that Queen were one of his favourite bands growing up and he would like to be Queens front man and claimed to be better than Adam. Then Adam shows up and says he is the better singer, James says he can't prove hes the better Queen singer because Queen aren't there. then surprise surprise, Brian and Roger emerge from behind the curtain playing We Will rock You with Adam They have a sing off. James sings Don't Stop Me Now (Not brilliantly it has to be said) James sings Crazy Little Thing Adam sings AOBTD James admits Adam is actually better then wishes he could just once find someone to love him. STL duet. Fast finish into commercial break. It is well worth a watch, I found it funny, but I know some people on here will think its a travesty. I enjoyed it. (All the songs were truncated obviously) The whole bit is about 11 minutes. I'm sure its on YouTube already |

Thanks for the link. Just come here to post it myself. What I WILL say to all the American fans here though, is that even though there's a Youtube link, it's only 720p and it's blocky towards the end, so if you're able to capture the HD transmisison stream from the broadcast, please do so! Don't be lazy and shrug off sharing a better copy just because something's already out there. |

This was really good, even though typically cheesy in the James Corden way. So nice to see our old band still being on a show with such a large audience such as this. |

noorie wrote: Seemed somehow that Brian and Roger were the backing band for AL. AL+Queen now, I guess....?Nah. No matter who it is, the singer is always seen before the rest of the musicians. Unless you're in AC/DC. I thought it was wonderful. Of course it was cheesy, but that's the nature of late night TV - scripted yet professional. Nice to see our boys (who are pushing 70) still being relevant to American popular culture. And it's amazing to see how adaptable and universal those big hit Queen songs still are. Enjoy this, folks - it won't be happening even five years from now. |
cmsdrums 03.02.2017 16:31 |
Well said Wizard - those sort of things can be really cringeworthy but I think it was done just right; importantly they didn't take the piss out of the music, and Corden knows just how far to take any 'slapstick' and gentle mocking humour without going too far. Q&AL of course took it all in their stride too! |
Viper 03.02.2017 16:53 |

My post got lost! The short version....I might go see this In Ny considering it might be the last chance to see a Queen related show. Even though I'm not a big Lambert guy and will get heat from rock fans. |

^ I will also say I thought it was also a nice bit of marketing. Everyone goes on late shows and does a song and gets off...being in this kind of (11 minute) bit it's more likely to get play and talked about...It was fun...and better than just going on doing Somebody To Love and then leaving |

Watched it again "on CBS on demand" and fortunately it was the first comedy bit of the night so I didn't have to watch much of the actual show. (*aside from "QUEEN" the guests sucked). surprised it wasn't omitted for demand. 1) I was wrong, Corden's timbre does sound heftier; BUT he still gets pitchy and then very ordinary. 2) There IS a bad chorusing/phaser effect on BOTH vocals for the final song. it's really horribly distracting. ... was it melodyne? ...or was it the same mess from that chipmunk live version of SAVE ME? |
waunakonor 19.02.2017 09:32 |
The bassist for James' house band (who's really cute btw) got to play bass for Queen. That's fun. |

Sounds as if someone accidentally switched it on in Save Me. It's a shame, it slightly taints an otherwise glorious performance. |
