Has Freestone fallen out with the Queen machine? He never appeared in Days of our lives documentary, someone knows why? |
Nitroboy 07.06.2016 15:30 |
Brian seems to hold a grudge against Peter. Why, I don't know. |
Kuijpy 07.06.2016 15:49 |
Maybe he was telling everyone anything about the private life of Freddie? |
beemack74 08.06.2016 08:14 |
And we haven't had a new "Ask Phoebe" in quite a while, anyone know why? |
Elektra 08.06.2016 08:27 |
He knows too much and says what he thinks without holding back saying freddie has a huge cock and sharing freddies recipes in a book making money from A Kind of Magic Tour and using the QUEEN name whens its a Tribute etc etc |

beemack74 wrote: And we haven't had a new "Ask Phoebe" in quite a while, anyone know why?I think the Ask Phoebe Q&A just ran its natural course - he couldn't keep doing it forever. He had no obligation to do it - it was just something he did from time to time - and he kept it up for a long while. Who knows, he might restart it. Anyway, I always found his answers, and anything he generally said about Freddie, to be very respectful. The one thing I felt was kind of a low-point was when he appeared on the "Freddie's Love" documentary - when he mentioned Freddie's johnson, etc. Yes, one can argue that he's been making money all these years by clinging to the Queen bandwagon. But the only reason he makes money is because there is a market for what he offers, and if there is a market, then he has every right to do what he does. He's a generally nice man who has decided basically he's going to use the fact that he worked and knew Freddie as a source of income. Personally, I'd want to do something more with my life - to achieve something on my own merit - but everyone makes their own choices. |

There was nothing new for Freestone to add that's not already been said. I'm T I R E D of these talking-heads documentaries any how; the less we see of people gushing over how wonderful people were / are, the better. |

Peter works in the Czech Republic managing bands and working in the opera community. The Queen/Freddie stuff is all a hobby for him. |

As for being a cunt, well, how you can discern that without having met me is a complete mystery. Toddle off now back to your homework. >It's always good to see a new Doc about Queen. I'm sure some stuff hasn't been said yet. In your opinion, fine. Personally, NOTHING new has been "said" in ANY of the documentaries released since the "Freddie Mercury - The Untold Story" film that accompanied the "Solo Collection". "The Magic Years" covered pretty much everything. "Champions Of The World" went a long way to correcting most of the mistakes that were so glaring in "The Magic Years". "Days Of Our Lives" did a good job in showing us a bit more unreleased / unseen footage but again the same story. "Making Of Bohemian Rhapsody"? "Classic Albums - A Day At The Races"? - all well-known stories for anyone that's read about the band for the last 40 years...... If you were to compile a new documentary on Queen, what would you try to drag out of the likes of Freestone that would enlighten? |

Ok I get the point, he got other shit to do, sure, but why replace his ass with Paul Gambacinni? Who was he to Freddie or Queen? |

I just thought you were being very negative. I think that you are wrong on the aspect of nothing else being revealed. Hold tight, and when another doc comes along, no doubt new stuff will be revealed. |

Why would Brian even have much of an opinion, freestone was part of Freddie's entourage not queen especially, he enjoys remonising and taking about his time with Freddie from time to time, I can't see a issue, I'm sure he feels it all ended too soon. And there is another Freddie doc coming, don't expect too much (or anything) it's on channel 5 at some point. Hopefully the movie thing is a dead duck. |

But I don't think that has anything to do with his absence from the Queen scene in recent years. He was one of Freddie's pals and has said all that needs to be said (and much, much more). So he's just living his life now, like hundreds of other people who were around the band at one point or another. |

My personal view is that Roger and Brian fought for years to keep the press at bay, and in fact so did Phoebe to some extent during Freddie's life, but Roger and Brian were more concerned that private lives shouldn't be sprawled over the papers. Then suddenly you get Phoebe in 2004/2005 talking openly about Freddie's sex life, Freddie's life with AIDS, Freddie's friendship with Kenny Everett, some really personal and sometimes inappropriate information, and I think that probably Brian and Roger felt there might be some level of betrayal there. Yes, perhaps he knows 'too much' - in that he'd know Freddie's side of any arguments from within the band, but more so I think it's probably that Phoebe disclosed some pretty personal information about Freddie in documentaries 12 or so years ago. Now, whether it was right or wrong for Phoebe to disclose that information is a matter for a different thread, and what is done is done, but if I was Brian or Roger, I'd probably feel slightly betrayed. Of course that might not be the reason for the radio silence at all, there might be something quite simple. |

I must have missed all the fun. What suff did he say about Freddie? Any sources I can read up on? |
inu-liger 21.06.2016 03:36 |
I understood a while back that part of the reason you didn't really have Phoebe on DOOL was because Queen and the documentary team wanted to have people interviewed who weren't already a major staple of the post-Freddie Queen documentary/interview scene. In any case, you people are forgetting that Phoebe was interviewed for the spinoff "The Great Pretender" documentary anyway! |
