Convention messages and some questions from the fans. There are some interesting bits like: "People didn't cared about Cosmos Rocks" "Queen wont make an album with Adam" Roger has arthritis etc etc Brian: link Roger: link |
Vali 11.11.2015 13:57 |
thanks !! wow, interesting revelation from Roger regarding "Man On Fire": "no demo exists with Freddie's vocals because .... it was written for The Cross and Freddie never got to hear that one" Emmmm.... ... .... ok Mr. Taylor, if you sayin' so ... |

The Cross did not exist until '87.......... and we have seen the studio work in progress listings of it from The Works sessions, so........ooooooops... |

From Brian: "We revisited a couple of tracks from The Works sessions...." hmm that is certainly interesting ! The person responsible for choosing the questions and passing them to Bri & Rog, possibly rejected most of them... I can't believe that only 2 questions concerning unreleased material were sent to them. |

Thank you for the links. This was very interesting. |

In the facebook threads, the top dog of the group specifically requested these links not to be spread. But now that they're out - thanks for posting ! Wonderful to see these. |

Must also be Feelings, Feelings and Silver Salmon I guess. Brian says: I see the questions for the first time, so you get the best answers from me. He forgot to mention; the footage we shot today will be heavily edited, parts will be cut and after that the footage left will be send to grandpa Beach for approval. |

*goodco* wrote: The Cross did not exist until '87.......... and we have seen the studio work in progress listings of it from The Works sessions, so........ooooooops...------------------------------------------------------------------- So true... we saw a picture of the Multitrack Box on Facebook saying something else. Of course the track could have Rogers vocals on it, like they did for a guide for Freddie. Perhaps they found the song not good enough for a Queen track and Roger later picked it up for his solo album. |

Wonderful to see these. They shouldn't have posted them if they didn't want anybody to share them, to be honest. One should never expect to be able to control the way something's used online once they've shared it publicly. |

He didn't ask for the links to the videos not to be shared, but for the actual videos not to be uploaded elsewhere (i.e. to just stay on those Facebook pages). At least that's how I understand what he wrote: "Please do not share these videos. By all means tell people where they are but we want them to stay here not get shared all over the internet". I think he just asked for some courtesy, but we all know there's no courtesy online. PS: Brilliant videos! |

In relation to the 'Man on Fire' quotes and others, I find a little piece of me dies when I realise I know more about the band's music than they do!! That's not a criticism of them as such as it was a long time ago and they have a lot of history, but just a slight frustration and disappointment when I think of what we may miss out on through ignorance or oversight. |

cmsdrums wrote: I find a little piece of me dies when I realise I know more about the band's music than they do!!In terms of knowing what it was really like to be writing, arranging, rehearsing, demoing, recording, producing, mixing and selecting, adapting, rejecting or supplementing those songs, they know far more than we can ever begin to imagine. Same for stuff such as remembering the experience, their little arguments, etc. But when it comes to remembering every guest musician on every song (especially a song as irrelevant as 'Man on the Prowl') or accurate timelines for every side project, they're as useless as any of us would be if we were asked about everything we did at work 30+ years ago. What for plenty of people might be an unforgettable song or concert, for them might have been just one of many (and I do mean *many*). |

The fact that Brian and Roger forget their songs, maybe means that the don't care so much about their past or what the record company release ( Roger didn't know if his best of was out). They want to do things straight to the people (live, musicals, solo collaborations etc). That's why they have hired people like Greg, to do the search and give them a picture of what is on their vast vault. From what I hear in the messages, I conclude that, it is very difficult to see unreleased demos or any kind of album with Freddie. Brain and Roger give their time to other priorities. Something that I respect. Queen had achieved so many things, their status is very well enstablished in Rock history. |

IMO that's the reason why most of them forget lots of stuff about their past. |

It happens a lot in football as well. Star players will definitely remember the huge games or moments (e.g. Tim Howard's magnificent goal, Banksy's save, Ibrahimovic's bicycle kick against England), but as for a random season game where they might have routinely scored a goal (or saved a penalty), they might've even forgotten, while for some fans it might have been a defining moment. |
