Hi guys, I want to share with Queenzone a recent discovery! :) A New song by Roger Taylor on the soundtrack of the film "Absolutely Anything" released in theaters last month.
You can hear the song after the first 2 minutes into the film in the sequence of the opening titles and the duration is about a minute and a half.
The first time I heard the piece during the movie was really a surprise, sounds very reminiscent of the last album of Roger "Fun on Earth", in particular in the minimalist style and the choruses of "Smile".
It seemed really to hear the voice of Roger, and if it is not him, I think that would fool anyone with Queennie 'ears! :)
Apparently so this is a song uncredited.
The film Shootings begin March 24, 2014 and end May 12, 2015, so I think it correct to assume that the song was commissioned to Roger (if I'm right and it is him) last year, but I did not find official confirmation in the credits where the score is attributed only to George Fenton (known British composer) and also provide a Kylie Minogue song with the carrier entitled "Absolutely Anything And Anything At All"., what do you think? I propose an mp3 with the piece recorded retrieved on the network from a stream: link

"Absolutely Anything" Starring "Simon Pegg" , is a film by Monty Python star & Director "Terry Jones"... Jim Beach was Monty Pythons Lawyer in the 70's & still is good friends with all the Pythons... Last year when the Python's were sued for royalties of a film.. Jim Suggested to Eric Idle, that the python's only needed to put on one show at the O2 Arena London & their debts, would be paid off... So the one date Turned into several dates, bagging the python's a small fortune... Jim was the promoter/manager of the 02 gigs, even joining them on stage on the last night... That's why Jim was not in America & Canada for the beginning of the Q+AL tour... He was in London, with Monty Python...
So The link to Roger is there...
Also In the film, I believe they Use "I want To Break Free" in the soundtrack...so I have been told....
If You Like "Simon Pegg" his film "Shaun of The Dead" uses "You're My Best Friend" & "Don't Stop Me Now" in the soundtrack...
Oh yes, Simon Pegg is absolutely brilliant. His most famous work is the "Blood & Ice Cream trilogy" with the "Shaun of the Dead" (With DSTMN and YAMBF), "Hot Fuzz" and "The World's End". link

His voice is still good, but he's really losing his power and range at the higher end - check out the 'thousand pairs of shoes' line in this track.
I think that's an intentional approach. But yeah, we probably won't be hearing him hitting soprano high B's any time soon.

The pitch isn't right on this version.
For those interested, just download and listen to the version that it's shared in the first post.
Sorry, it's taken straight from streaming of the film. Whether it's wrong there I don't know. I did my best to bring the best available version ton other fans...You can always download it and try to correct it ;)
This totally passed me by at the time, but watched the film today and thought 'hang on a sec'. Quite a nice song, and perfect over the images in the film.
The film itself, fairly average.
