I can partly agree with that article.
Personally I think that a bigger military operation is necessary for a "win" over the "ISIS".
A "buyout" to split the "ISIS" in different fractions is an option to curb their activities, but not a final solution imo.
But no matter what will happen...I 'am afraid that the seed of radicalism in peoples minds can't be erased and the near / middle east will be a powder barrel for the next decades.

Kill the fire with fire, eh?
I agree ISIS and other terrorists are monsters and the army should deal with them.
But thinking all the people in middle east are fanatics or radicals is a big mistake and will only lead to more violence.

Christianism and Islam are basically the same. Is being raised in third rated countries, poverty and lack of education, watching how familiars and friends die from violence and lack of resources, while people in Europe and America lead an expensive way of life what turns someone into a terrorist.
If the middle east countries had the same quality of life of Europe and America there be probably no terrorism there, or only a few wackos like in the advances countries.

What wins a war is not a weapon, but only the cause the warring parties truly believe in and are fighting for, whether it is a noble and a just cause or an ignoble and an unjust cause. And all sorts of outcomes are possible from including an endless stalemate. If the cause is noble and just and good, then non-violence is weapon enough, but if the cause is unjust and evil then even the Brahmastra much less the atomic bomb is not weapon enough.
