Two questions:
Which vocal line does John Anthony (allegedly) sing on Modern Times Rock and Roll?
and
Has there ever been any comment on the reason they had Mike Stone sing those lines on Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy? Perhaps Roger's voice was deemed too abrasive for the part?
It wasn't particularly common for them to have contributions from outside vocalists (probably cos they had 3 good singers in the band already), so these two exceptions from the 70's tracks are quite interesting to me.
I always assumed John Anthony sang the deep "Look out!" at the end. As I type this I noticed I really have no certainty of it other than that's what I've believed for the last 23 years or so, haha :).
Thinking about it, all the other vocals in the song sound like Rog. Also, he sings the Look out line in the BBC version and is obviously a different voice to the one on "Queen".

I would like to think that as they held him in such high regard they just wanted to immortalise him. I think its more likely that the line is being asked from an outside observer so needed a voice that has no familiarity to the listener

"Queen is one of the few albums where all tracks feature all four band members; it is also the only album where all non-instrumental songs feature backing vocals by all three founding members. There's only one credited additional performer: producer John Anthony shouted 'look out' near the end of Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll."
