First of all, sorry about my terrible english, A year ago i bought a rare CD in France. It has a picture of IMGSM on the front cover. No more information on it. When i got home and start listening....it was a interview with Freddie! and it runs more than 43 minutes!!! I started looking for the interview online and i can't find nothing realted to this one. I havent found information about the date or the place. But the closest date i can get is "after the black nails era", so 1977-1985 (I dont think its that far) The interviewer watched them playing live and he asks Freddie about the show but he never said the place or the date of the concert so it's kinda weird Freddie looks really nice durning the talk and he gave the interviewer somo interesting information about smile and his way of being on stage. So when you guys made a post with lots of interviews i hope to find mine, but i didnt, so i decided to post the interview for myself. I think it hasnt be out before, or at last i couldnt find it. ENJOY! MEGA LINK: link 2001.AQueenOdyssey :) |

That sounds very correct actually. At 25:30, Freddie says: "Last year we opened with Rhapsody - a quick clip of Rhapsody..." Around 25:10, the interviewer also says that he thought Tie Your Mother Down sounded strong at the show he attended. Freddie says something along the lines of: "Yeah that was the first number" So this is definitely from 77 |

Freddie mentions Boston a couple of times, so maybe this is closer to that gig? |

It's from 1977 done the same day as the (commonly circulating) Seattle show I believe. Originally issued as a set of 4 discs with an interview with each member on a separate disc. You can hear FM lighting up and drinking if I'm not mistaken as the interview goes on. |

I haven't listened to the discs in years. The Brian one is labeled as 1979, and the Roger one as 1980. Is this true, or are they all from 1977? |

I have a MP3 (god knows where I obtained it, I don't) with an interview called "The Unauthorized Edition". It's 1:16:00 long, comes from an "Interview Disc" and only features Freddie. It's in MP3, so it's size is 86 MB. Somebody interested here? |

The OP's FM interview seems to be from this 4 disc unofficial UK release "The Interview Collection" (Baktabak – CBAK 4957) released in 1992. link |

"Queen THE INTERVIEW COLLECTION ... it seemed an interesting idea to try and get inside the individual minds that made up the entity known as Queen. The way this would be accomplished would be to do a series of four interviews, one with each band member rather than a group interview. We wanted to see if a series of questions asked of each band member pertaining to the band's philosophy and approach to both music and the music industry would garner similar answers. Fortunately, the interviewer here was someone whom the band had known for three years and, as a result, both band and record company were enthusiastic about the idea and eager to "see if we'll pass the test" as Freddie Mercury put it. And so the interviews were recorded on a cold January afternoon in 1977 in Detroit. Each interview lasted around 40 minutes and covered a wide variety of topics, more in the nature of a conversation than a question and answer session. How did they do? That was the question each band member asked the interviewer in the dressing room after the show that night. The interviewer gave them the same answer that night as he now gives you - listen to the recordings and hear for yourself. It's a different look at one of the most popular bands in the world. Jim Kozlowski THIS ALBUM DOES NOT CONTAIN MUSIC AND IS NOT AN EMI RECORDS RELEASE 1992 Tabak Marketing Limited. Manufactured by Tabak Marketing Limited for BakTabak Records. Made in England." I hope this helps. I haven't listen to the interviews for a long time either :-) |
